Well said.

My dad and I watched the whole game together. Ohio made a bunch of mistakes, too. The main difference was they were able to run the ball. To suggest UNLV threw the game is laughable.

What’s even more fishy is a lot of people in the bowl pickem knew to take Ohio.

IF they threw it, I think it would have been player driven.

I still have respect for coaches who worked the SEC and didn't stick. Dan Mullen had worked with Urban Meyer (maybe not a positive) and then did time as head coach at Miss State and then Florida. I don't think he would have been affected by the UNLV, emphasis Las Vegas, culture. I hope.

Players now get NIL money to play, maybe they extrapolate that to
Get mo' money to play not so well.

Its easier for UNLV fans to blame throwing it instead of just accepting they got beat and were unprepared. These days everyone has to blame something other than the real reason.

Bowls have always been like this with some underdog showing up to win. Team A is there but players just want to enjoy the festivities leading up to the game. Team B is hungry and not satisfied to just be there and work hard and limit festivities to focus in game.

Then Team A fans can’t accept they lost. So need to blame something other than poor play/prep. “No way they lose unless they rigged it”.

There is lots of time from last season game to bowl. Some coaches spend every minute of those weeks to watch film and come up with game plans. They might want to make a name for themself. Or just reinforce to their team how good they are to maybe get a pay raise. So many different motivations both coaches and players.

To rig a football game would require too many people to keep it hushed up. With so many players its just too hard to do. UNLV fans need to look at how much effort players put into practices in the weeks leading up to game.

People get very irrational when they start betting on sports. Instead of looking at themselves for placing the bet on something that is fluid and uncontrollable, no they blame the players or coaches for them losing money.

You lost money bc you bet on something.

Didn't hear many people saying this when Skip Holtz held off on beating Mississippi state or Kansas state.

You know you’re really into gambling whenever you’re betting on the Frisco bowl.

I could see the hook for people

Ohio coach gets fired 10 days ago, unlv is a 10 win team with Dan Mullen who is known as having a solid p4 track record as a HC, people figured he’d coach circles around the interim at Ohio.

They were wrong, but I could see why they might have thought it was a good game to bet on because of the Ohio coach situation

UNLV averages 40 points a game but was held to 10 by the mighty Bobcats of Ohio.

wasn’t just that play, there were many other blunders all game long that seemed uncharacteristic

Or they were just being G5 teams in a meaningless bowl game…

Meh....if running up the backside and being "tackled" by your blockers instead of running to the clear path was evidence of gambling shenanigans, Trent Richardson would be Prison with wiseguys.
