Have you seen Lebron's career averages to date?
His numbers are unreal too.
I don't think LBJ has the upper hand in any first 10 year average other than rebounds and assists.

I think with regards to MJ's 6 NBA finals MVP awards, you are forgetting the fact that he was the best player on the court consistently in every opportunity he had on the game's biggest stage competing against the best team in the league
he NEVER was a disappointment in this stage
he NEVER was a disappointment in this stage

Why are you acting like these numbers are so trivial?

You and SFP don't believe that intangibles exist. I get it. I do. I think MJ had a will and drive that LBJ hasn't consistently displayed. If you think you win the debate because stats or some other direct objective data can't show it to you, then I respectfully disagree and think you are trying too hard. Sabermetrics and fantasy sports has altered the way people think about sports to a strange level.
I am saying that if Lebron wins 6 titles, that you personally while watching from your TV at home have absolutely no way to determine how much was related to drive and determination compared to MJ.
That's what I'm saying. Of course we disagree, but I certainly don't remotely see how you have this ability to assign an amount of drive and determination to go with 2 players that have the same amount of titles(again, playing the hypothetical)

didn't MJ have 10 triple doubles in an 11 game stretch?

eta: personal fail
All the MJ vs Lebron comparisons should really stop. Let's just let the man finish his career, or at least come close to retirement 1st. He's got a lot left in the tank, but I understand that all of this is for the sake of convo/debate.

quote:Certainly if that happens I have a way to determine who I think had more drive and determination. The same way I have made that determination now. By watching them and making observations. Subjectivity when analyzing performances doesn't offend me. It is part of life, whether it be in work, sport, theater, etc.

Cause they are and Lebron has less than a Rebound difference than MJ with his superior physical body. I think MJ would have averaged 14 rebounds per game with lebron's body.

Stop looking at this in a vacuum. Throw ALL the numbers out there. Look at the teams. LOOK AT THE COACH. LOOK AT EVERYTHING. THEN, you can judge the players.

Cowherd is doing this for ratings. Troll.
Now there is 10 pages of people feeding this troll

you shouldn't compare by years you should compared by age, fwiw
18 year old lebron isn't a fair comparison to a 21 year old jordan

quote:I didn't assign any ratings, I said they were evidence. You want a one to one correlation so you can argue Tony Parker and Rasheed Wallace. Sports, movies, music and life don't work that way. Only dungeons and dragons and fantasy sports.
And if you do, make sure to assign random, arbitrary will and determination ratings to each title that in reality, are impossible to make with ANY certainty at all.
