Did America lose it's least disposable athlete?

Hear me out.
There are obviously bigger names. But none of those people have nearly the philanthropic bug that Kobe was starting to develop post-NBA career. Hearing about how much he was trying to do for girls basketball and women's basketball really sucked.
We lost arguably the biggest role model for people that look up to athletes. Would any parent complain if their child had the drive to be exceptional? He also stays away from the political spectrum and doing dumb s*** like faking a racial slur on a gate.
This one just sucks. This man was destined to do some really cool things in the future. Someone with a much refined moral compass as he's aged who was just going to be an overall positive force for those around him.
I don't think we could have lost worse. MJ. Lebron. Brady. Tiger. Etc. Haven't shown the inclination to dive headfirst into helping others that Kobe was starting to show.
ETA: I am PROJECTING where Kobe was headed when saying he was least disposable.

TWIL: dying tragically can have a huge effect on a person's reputation.

You may not like LeBron, but political statements seem easier to explain to your kids than what happened in Colorado.

Are you sure about that? Warrick Dunn has been building houses for impoverished people for decades (including one for a young Deshaun Watson). JJ Watt donated millions to flood victims two years ago. Neither of those have the global brand of Kobe, but I'd say that giving to those in need probably touches a lot more lives than advocating for girls basketball. Let's try to keep things in perspective here

Look, I respect what Kobe was doing for others, and his tragic death is sad, but we shouldn't act like the guys you named and other athletes don't do a ton to help others.
Starting with the first guy you named, here's a short list of MJ's charitable activities. The other guys have plenty, too.
MJ
He also donated his entire 2001-02 salary to 9/11 charities.

I'm not saying he's done more than people currently. He hasn't. Even someone like Lebron. But he looked like he was on a trajectory that was going to be something really cool, and he had the ego to dream big.
And to the "Colorado" crowd, I hated (H A T E D Kobe/Lakers) Kobe at the time, and I thought it was ridiculous once they found all that different semen on those panties.

Kobe loved humanity.
Lebron loves attention.

The outpouring amount of respect not only from people affiliated with the NBA, but athletes from other sports and people not even associated with sports makes me agree
I always envisioned Kobe becoming the de facto ambassador of the NBA taking Russell’s place. There’s no doubt in my mind Kobe would’ve had an amazing 2nd career as a philanthropist given his platform and the international popularity he had.
