I have no idea who that woman is….which tells you all you need to know.
Posted on 6/15/23 at 7:00 pm to hawgfaninc
shite. I should get in shape, identify as a woman and become the best wnba player. I would love to work for about 5 months out of the year and make $230k.

Wait how does a mascot make that much? That can’t be correct.
It’s correct …
Rocky $625K
ATL - Harry the Hawk $600K
CHI - Benny the Bull $400K
PHX - Go the Gorilla $200K
CHA - Hugo the Hornet $100K

He has stay in character during a sporting event, doesn’t get weekends off, and probably works year round

The also work 12 mo/yr at every charity event, personal appearance, corporate dinner, executive golf tournament and more, plus 82 home games that entails them running through the crowd, up stairs and dunking pre game and halftime, all while wearing a 40lb suit made of boat carpet, hockey pads and fake fur. There's like 10 people in the state of Colorado who could actually do that job. In the wnba, there are 300 players who could be substituted by 1000 high school boys per year and make the same revenue and probably more.
And you don’t say a single word. I’m in

Amen. The market speaks and the players’ value is determined by the market/views/revenue. That’s why “equal pay” is a joke.

My God, that woman is ugly!

Well, I tend to believe the NBA mascots make the most. Most of those guys are athletes in their own right. Constantly running, acrobatics, stunts, etc.
I know LSU paid halftime acts for basketball between $4-6K and that was 14 years ago. Quickchange and some dude with a dog. I know because I wrote those agreements.
Extrapolate that with inflation over 41 games...$400K is easily believable. Plus all the other activities they do outside the games.
Mike the Tiger suit for LSU I think is $10-12K. I think they had 3 or them on hand when I was there. They sent them off every year to be refurbished and I remember thinking those things must have stunk to high heaven after a football season.

They listed her as “the highest paid WNBA player” because they didn’t know her fricking name either
Posted on 6/16/23 at 6:28 am to hawgfaninc
now do how much a WNBA mascot makes.
Posted on 6/16/23 at 6:45 am to hawgfaninc
Basketball is such a terrible hill to die on for women’s sports. Not that many men can even play basketball that’s worth watching. It’s all athleticism.

Have some WNBA players that live in my building. Didn't realize the team pays for their housing (at least some pf them). It's a nice place and they get some of the penthouses.
They make out pretty damn good I'd say.

The WNBA doesn't make money. The NBA pays for it.
I don't understand what people don't understand when they bring up shite like this. Their league only exists out of pity and desire for good optics for the NBA.
It's just this simple. You can try to rationalize it or pretend as though it's not the case - and some do....but what you point out is in fact reality.

Those guys at the NBA/MLB/NHL level make great money because there's only a handful of them that can actually do it. It's an incredibly physically demanding job.
I remember doing a 2 hour event my junior year of HS in 1998 in the summer in NOLA in the sport costume. Outside at gambinos bakery.
I was about 150lbs, ran 4+ miles a day and lifted weights basically daily with easily a single digit body fat. I was 17 and in great shape.
I lost 7 lbs of water weight in that 2 hours and felt like I was going to die
Still 600k + is an insane amount of money. I bet there are stuntmen out there doing way more dangerous stuff than dunking a basketball in a suit gettingng paid a fraction of that.

$625k???
I thought they just picked the tallest intern to do this shite???
Lol

To be fair, I've at least heard of Rocky.
No fricking clue who that is on the right.

If the NBA and ESON wasn’t continuously propping it up most teams would have been bankrupt a decade ago.
The entire WNBA would go bankrupt instantly if the NBA pulled its financial support.

That mascot makes more than many NFL players. Trust me I know.
I don't see them crying about that though
