If the U Colorado fans are any predictor of the future, the domed stadium will be one of the biggest accumulations of MJ smoke in this hemisphere. Fans and players won't have to smoke to get high.

Bears, Browns, and now the Broncos. Why are all the B teams building domes?

How often is the weather that bad in Denver? Aren't they known for 300 days of sunshine? Yeah, I'm sure it gets cold in late November and December, but we are talking about 3-4 games a season. The rest of the season has perfect weather.

It’s all about the Super Bowl. That’s all they care about. The big rumors were that they were going to build it out by the airport, but thank god that didn’t happen. My wife and I would not be renewing our tickets had they done that.

One thing they were also floating was banning tailgating altogether and just putting up tons of shops and restaurants around the arena with minimal parking. Not a peep about that in this press release.

I think it's 50/50 for the butthole roof on the Falcons stadium. Closed in Nov and Dec.

That doesn't bring a Super Bowl in Feb though.

Risked a snow bowl on precious New York, though.

100% agreed. Football was made to be played outside.

Money won't be an issue.

It's funny to watch the trend to domes when 25 years ago open air stadiums like Raymond James were all the rage along with the Titans stadium, etc. Now the new trend is indoor .

It’s an insane amount of investment for just 1 night out of every 7500 or so (~20 years) for a city that’s not really equipped for one. Reminder to also avoid the slopes for the week+ surrounding

Ya’ll keep saying it and I don’t think it’s true at all. Super Bowl is going to be one week every 7-12 years now. There’s too many locations.

You build a dome so you can have year round events like concerts, basketball, etc.

A place like Denver that stadium is virtually unusable outside of football season so basically mid January through June. Put a dome on it and it makes taking care of the grass a lot easier also. All of a sudden you go from 10-12 football games to 30+ events a year.

Hopefully they make sure there are no missing Israeli nukes before they have a Super Bowl there.

Not just super bowls, but getting into the final four and CFP rotations.

I don’t live in Denver, so I’ll ask…how many concerts does the city miss out on that a domed stadium would attract? You have Ball Arena and Red Rocks. For convention type events…you have an arena and a convention center.

You mention basketball. The ONLY basketball played in a domed stadium nowadays is the Final Four. They don’t even do the Sweet 16 or Elite 8 in them anymore. I guess the Nuggets could play a game there just to attract a monster crowd.

Again, I don’t live there…so I’ll ask once more, straight up…what would a domed stadium attract that the city cannot currently host? We know a Super Bowl and Final Four are up for grabs once every 15-30 years.

Those are nice perks to a new building, but hopefully not the reason you’d build one.

Pro sports team owners are in the real estate business. This has absolutely nothing to do with the fan experience, and everything to do with milking more dollars from the public. Come to OUR stadium, eat at OUR restaurant, drink beer from OUR concessions, go to one of OUR bars, park in OUR garage.

Sitting in climate controlled is much better for comfort.

I don’t go to a sporting event, especially football, to be comfortable. I want to have a memorable experience, and that typically comes from a game that has a rowdy and intense vibe.
