Well, he may have included it because everyone these days pretends that there aren’t any black, two parent households

So you just assumed he meant that.

That’s what I took from it, so yeah. Is there something wrong with determining meaning behind a statement, or attempting to?

Why is it racist if it’s true?

Can’t be any more racist than everyone assuming he’s talking about only black kids. Admittedly, I didn’t watch the entire video so someone can correct me if this is wrong…but did he even mention skin color in his comments?

If he didn’t, then how is everyone on the internet not racist af for assuming he’s only talking about black kids? There are white, Spanish, Samoan single parents homes, are there not?

Society and pop cultures has programmed all of our brains to assume it’s about just black kids.

There’s a big difference between a comfortable suburban upbringing and the status that goes along with being a starter for a major college football team - and then perhaps being a millionaire pro player. The motivation should be there if the talent is.

But it takes hard work to reach those goals… work that you may be more likely to do if it’s the only way you’ll go to college or get out of a bad neighborhood

To be honest- i dont think a lot of other AA coaches can say these things either.

I dont think Marcus Freeman has the cache to say this. Its more of a Prime thing.

And unlike other LSU fans- I am not a Freeman hater

If making it to the NFL boiled down to work ethic and intangibles, you would have more high character players from good families playing on Sundays than you would players from broken homes “trying to escape the streets.”

The Hunter Renfrow types would be all over NFL rosters. Players who are smart and were conditioned to have a good work ethic by strong parents would be a hell of a lot more prevalent in the NFL.

Players from poor backgrounds have a tendency to do stupid shite on and off the field. They make the NFL primarily because of their physical gifts.

I’m relating what the Fab Five said in the 30 For 30 about their game with Duke. A lot of those kids were the exact kinds of players K would NOT recruit and they had a chip on their shoulder because of it.

I love him, but White coach says that in public and they are finished. Cancel culture goes one way

I can only imagine the backlash if Kirby or Saban said this any non-AA coach for that matter.

Saban believes the same thing. He's smart enough to not say it.

What’s the upside to publicly saying something like that?

He is at a shite program that no one has taken seriously this century. Yet, an LSU based forum in one of the hottest recruiting areas in the county has a five page thread going about his comments. That is the upside to saying something like that.

The publicity and "mentions" (hate this shite, but lets not pretend it isn't a thing) he generates from these comments outweigh any backlash he will get 100 fold. Colorado football is in such dire straits, any publicity is good publicity.

I wonder if “on free lunch” is on the form for assessing D linemen. Height, weight, 40 time, lunch status.

He is a high profile black guy so yes. A white coach would be fired as the woke crowd would demonstrate all over campus

Deion is one of a few who can say this publicly and get away with it, but this isn’t new. This is pretty common for a lot of college coaches and recruiters to say “off the record”.

Deion is just telling the press the things that many coaches already say privately. I bet many people respect that and I’m sure many are tired of it. I’m kind of in the middle…I can respect that he’s honest and not providing the same old coach speak

Lol is this a joke? Shaq’s father was a military veteran who was heavily involved in his upbringing
