Did you read the deadspin article?
"Nice to meet you ma'am" implies that "they met".

Whoever is behind "her" twitter needs to change the picture to this:

I can actually believe the phone calls ... that is the ultimate part of the troll...get some random girl to call a dude and pretend to be this "girl online"
Some girl stayed on the phone with some random dude she didn't even know for 8 hours every single night? Yeaaaaaaaah....no.

basically no one at Notre Dame was surprised because they knew he was lying out of his arse
Then what of their (ND's) "investigation" - surely they would have talked to his own dam teammates.
I want to think golfer is right - he was trolled and rolled with it but when SVP opened his show he simply asked - "what was the gain?" When Bernie Madoff troleld everyone he bought boats. Lance - won 7 TDFs. Just reaks of a gay cover up.
The bottom line for me was summed up in the second page I think - The internet is awesome. What in the hell did I do with my life before it?
Posted on 1/17/13 at 2:28 pm to jimithing11
nobody with a brain could believe these all night phone calls really ever happened.

I've been telling you this all day but you keep ignoring it...now you believe it?
He was trolled, found out and let it ride for gain.
Let it ride because he's an attention whore, sure.
Let it ride to win the Heisman, laughable.

It's weird that Te'o would associate with someone like that.
The kid has a deleted instagram account with pics of Te'o. Not to mention he was Te'o's honorable guest to the Stanford vs ND game awhile back.
Yup, and how ironic that the lei girl from Notre Dame "Jan" just so happened to run into Tuiasospo when he though Lennay's sister was going to be there.
And the Pookah, the little girl with Ronaiah, just so happened to contract Lupus at a later date.
Holy shite.
He sounds like a sick bastard. Luekemia and Lupus - I see a trend.

There's more ... Jan tells TMZ Lennay's "sister" continued to reach out to her after the USC game ... and delivered some more bad news -- that little Pookah had been diagnosed with lupus and was dying in a children's hospital in Orange County, CA.
Jan said she wanted to send flowers -- so Lennay's "sister" gave her an address. TMZ has learned the address belongs to a member of the Tuiasosopo family.
Jan also gave us the phone number Lennay's sister would use to contact her -- and we found out the number is registered to a man named Titus Tuiasosopo -- Ronaiah's father.
This Tuiasosopo kid was trolling Te'o's fans too...

Now I think that Te'O was actually fooled. He possibly believed the story the entire time. HOWEVER, he greatly exaggerated his relationship with the girl. He used this sob story to pump up his popularity and sold his sob story to every reporter that put a microphone in front of his face. Instead of this being some girl he knew from the internet, this became "the love of his life" that he "talked to on the phone for hours before falling asleep every night for four months."
This is pretty much my thoughts too. I don't think it is any better for Te'o. To be so sheltered and naive to think that this person was real is beyond me. However, a couple of years ago I was working with someone that was in a similar situation. His gf turned out to be real, but he was 'dating' her for several months before they ever met in person. You wouldn't have known it b/c he constantly talked about how awesome she was and how she let him do whatever he wanted. I never questioned it. Later when I found out he had never 'met' her at that point, I thought he was an idiot. Looking back, it was obvious that he was overstating everything about the relationship in order to make himself look better. I can see Te'o doing the same.

but I don't believe Carson Tinker's story was on the cover of SI. I don't believe it was plastered all over ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, etc
Carson Tinker was a long snapper who lost his gf in a natural disaster that also took the lives of many others. It was a sad story, but I literally saw it so many times on ESPN that I got tired of it.
This is a story about the best player on ND and the runner up in the Heisman voting either being the victim or participating in one of the greatest hoax on the national sports media in probably...ever.
It deserves to be on all of those stations.

Don't disregard him simply being asexual.
This could have been a deflection but one to just prevent the assumption that he was gay.

True, but not sitting on a phone for hours at a time everynight for four months. Whoever was doing that trolling would have had absolutely no social life whatsoever.
Te'o trolling the media took about 30-45 minutes of his time once a week at most.

What if he was just an attention whore? No one knew or gave a flying frick about Manti fricking Te'o in September 2012

Trolling the woman organizing the leis for Te'o, and telling some random somoan girl has Lupus.
Cray... just cray.

Maybe he was so distraught over his grandmother dying that the crazy person inside him made up these stories to cope.

Exactly. No one is that committed to trolling. No one. Not even Lane Kiffin.
