Damn what a gag job by the Phillies. Philadelphia based MLB teams are 0-2 in Game 7s all time. The A’s in 1931 and now the Phillies tonight.

Plus they had a 5-2 lead in Game 4 and gagged it away. That was the turning point.

And just imagine how Brewers fans must feel. Every, and I mean every, team they’ve faced in their playoff history has gone on to either win the pennant or World Series.

That’s just how rare they make the postseason, they just tied the Astros for NL Central titles this year.

I’m sure MLB cares given, you know, it’s a business.

No one is saying don’t watch the series just because it will (likely) draw relatively little national interest. No one is saying it can’t be a great series (1991 was a classic WS between two, at the time, relatively small market teams with little championship history) They are just pointing out that the matchup likely won’t generate much national interest. It’s not a personal attack against you.

I don’t necessarily want to see a Yankees v Dodgers WS. But you can’t deny that would be a dream matchup for the business of MLB.

It’s also hilarious about the narrative it’s impossible to win in Philly.

MF they got a no hitter thrown against them in that stadium less than a year ago

They're scared of the Phillies and intimidated by them. That is damn near the perfect description of soft, and they have earned every bit of ridicule they're going to get this offseason.

Yes we all get that but I don’t care about the business of MLB. I don’t work for them, I watch their product 150 times a year in the regular season and I’ll watch all the postseason games. The league isn’t going to go under because of a Rangers-DBacks World Series

It’s not that I’m taking it as a personal attack and sorry if being aggressive. I just don’t get the ratings talk it’s stupid to me

Amen. I heard the same shite before the Stanley Cup Finals last year. It makes no difference to me what others watch or don't watch. What the frick else is on TV that is must watch that can't be seen 360 other nights a year? If you want the game to grow, it can't be the big market teams that win every year. I actually like the unpredictability. I already know the Chiefs will likely be in the Super Bowl again. Or the Warriors in the NBA Finals again. Yawn.

In other news...MLB looks forward to the lowest rated World Series ever

Just cause the team you root for got bounced, doesn’t mean other folks won’t be interested. Unless this is your way to cope with the loss.

The lowest rated World Series involved the Dodgers.

Mad dog radio is going to be interesting today. Chris Mad Dog Russo said before game 6 that if the DBacks win both games, he will retire from radio.

It’s disappointing the Braves went ice cold vs the Phillies. They are the better team and would have likely fared better vs the diamondbacks. That’s playoff baseball for you.

That’s ridiculous. They lost a playoff series vs them. We all know the playoffs is a crapshoot and everything has to come together at the right time to make it. It didn’t for the Braves. To say the Braves are scared of them is just silly. You’re just all up in your feelings about it.

Eh. We'll disagree here. The Braves aren't a soft team but they're intimidated by the Phillies. And like I said last night, IDK how they fix that but I'm sure that's gonna consume them this OS, they don't need any extra motivation/ridicule from us.

The emotions are still raw, I get it.

But they are not soft. They are intimidated by the Phillies in October, though.

Agree. Even if the Rangers was not playing, I would still watch. It’s frustrating with all this ratings talk. Listen to any national sports talk show and they were already killing the WS before last night with the possibility of Arizona making it. I get it, majority of them wants a championship that has a big market/big brand team playing. They are hating that an 84 win Arizona team is playing in the WS but wouldn’t react the same if it was a 84 win Yankee, Mets, or Dodgers team. Heard some complain and question if the format needs to be changed.

This WS is very interesting and I think it has a ton of great storylines to build on. If the media would get their head out of their arse and promote some of these storylines, more people may take interest and give this WS a chance.

I won’t be watching because it is 6 seed vs 5 seed. Neither team should even be in the playoffs.

I don't know why people care about the ratings.

Cool thing is the winner will be a first timer. I'd rather that than Red Sox vs. Dodgers, and if I weren't an Astros fan, I'd probably have Astros fatigue.
