Complete waste of money on smith. Outside of like a stretch of 5 or 6 appearances last year he was a total bust.

We needed another bullpen arm before Smith's surgery, but now we definitely need another one.

I'd vote to have Whitley, after super two has passed, in the BP till the All star break, then move him to a starter. This will control his innings. With that said I would rather another starter. James can be dominate in the bP as well if we get another starter.

If we get another starter we can fill spots in the pen with whoever moves out of the rotation. We can pick up a low cost flier maybe but we don’t need to add anything significant in the pen IMO. The need is in the rotation

Let's see if Santa leaves a DH and good starting pitcher under the tree for us.

Merry christmas. You all drive me insane most of the time, but the DATs are easily my favorite threads on TD.

Tyler White is going to be our DH isn't he? Or maybe we can bring back Gattis

I don’t think Gattis is coming back.

They would go with White and Tucker

meh, he's a positionally limited 38 year old who's production has declined each year since 2015 (significantly from 2017 to 2018) 14 million seems steep to me. But we did give Carlos Beltran 16 million when he was 40 so it wouldn't be a huge stretch for us to pay that.
