If the Astros get another top-tier pitcher for pennies on the dollar I'm going to be pissed.
I still think the Yankees offer of Clint Frazier and Chance Adams for Cole was better than what the Astros eventually sent.

The price for Paxton will likely be steeper within the division.

Luhnow has been blowing so much smoke, it’s hard to tell who his actual targets are.

I would rather him take care of the core guys first.

Then drive up the trade value of every one out there.

Then get another arm and another bat.

He has ace like potential and he's cheaply controlled for 2 more seasons. The price on him would be sky high. I'm skittish of him due to his constanr injuries.

It’s always entertaining to see these Twitter GM’s come up with trade ideas with Houston. One Atlanta fan proposed a deal that included Correa, several think that we are going to trade Tucker for Inciarte, and I’ve seen some say tucker + some for Teheran and Newcomb. Your typical “we will trade our #4 starter for your top prospect since you need pitching”

Hmmm... I don’t think you visited this thread much in 2015 and 2016.

Because what you just described was this thread on a daily basis back then.

I don’t doubt it, but Braves fans seem more delusional than just about everyone else. Most of their fans are convinced they will sign every top FA and trade all of their underperformers for up and coming talents. Majority of Astros twitter expects us to get top trade targets without giving up a top 8 prospect tho, so I guess that’s a little delusional but considering what was given up for JV and Cole they have some base for the delusion.

I think he will wind up in Seattle. Or Cleveland.

It would be interesting if he signs with Arlington.

I’m not going to shite on Keuchel too badly because he’s meant a lot to the organization during the rebuild, and he deserved his ring. That being said, I’m not upset to see him go.

Don’t see Seattle or Cleveland paying him with them rumored as sellers to cut expenses. I could see him in Philly

The Astros made an offer to the Tigers for right fielder Nick Castellanos prior to last July’s trade deadline, according to Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press (via Twitter). Houston was known to be aggressively pursuing a big outfield bat last summer, even to the point of almost completing a trade with the Nationals for Bryce Harper, and also inquiring about Tommy Pham (then with the Cardinals) and White Sox outfielder Avisail Garcia.

Fenech suggests that Castellanos could again be a target for the Astros this offseason, and he explores in a longer piece for the Detroit Free Press that it is becoming increasingly likely that the Tigers will trade Castellanos due to a lack of extension talks between the two sides.

Was Ludlow reading the DAT circa July?

#Astros remain a viable destination for Realmuto despite the high price tag, in part because #Marlins prefer not to trade him within the division to the #Braves, who are actively looking for a catcher. @MLB @MLBNetwork

#Astros, in need of at least one starting pitcher, are more active in trade discussions than free agent negotiations, sources say. They are inquiring on nearly every available starter via trade, as one exec told me. @MLB @MLBNetwork

Also, the Marlins asking price is incredibly high from the Dodgers apparently
