I think we will either resign Morton or sign Eovaldi. Don’t see both happening with McHugh plus the young options.

I think it is an issue with contending teams, you want to win but you don't want to allow the kids to come in and really give them a shot. Instead, you want to bring in a "proven" guy.

I've been big on the Yankees putting Sheffield and Adams in the rotation and letting them sink or swim.

Any of you Astro baws have a guess as to when you think Whitley will be called up? Late 2019?

I'd be good with giving some young guys a shot and adding one guy on a shorter deal. With Valdez, James, Bukauskas, Whitley, Armenteros we've got plenty of starters in waiting and we need to figure out what we have before Cole and JV contracts expire

Some time next year for sure. I think as early as May/June and late as September. Probably depends on how guys like James/Valdez/Perez perform and injuries

Jeff Luhnow used the phrase "in the post-Marwin world" today.

Assuming Gonzalez isn't back, Luhnow said they'd like Yuli Gurriel to become somewhat of a Gonzalez lite, being able to spell Altuve at 2B or Bregman at 3B on any given day.

Jeff Luhnow: "I do believe that we can probably fit one bat into our lineup and figure out where that person plays. Hopefully it’s someone that can play a position. If not, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that we could sign a DH."

One of those tweets may not be real.

Does Bagwell have any interest? He was pretty successful in his short stint the first time.

I think I’d prefer Beltran, but I don’t think he’d be interested in anything but a NYY position.

He made it pretty clear after his partial season that he had zero interest in doing it long term.

Yeah, I remember that. But it was several years ago and now he is a hall of famer. I could see him wanting to be part of the game again. He has been spending more time at the games lately.

Beltran ain't going to be a coach for anyone. It's manager or bust for him. Maybe the Yankees or Mets as a bench coach because he lives there.
