Yoko Ono signed with the red Sox.

Masataka Yoshida's deal with the Boston Red Sox is for $90 million. With a posting fee of $15.4 million, the total cost of the five-year deal will be $105.4 million.
A good bit to gamble on a Japanese player, but could be a steal compared to some recent contracts.

I think Maldonado is 100% on board with transitioning to a back-up role with the Astros.
Even if the machete turns into a hatchet I can see Dusty wanting him on the team. His numbers suck but he gets hits when we are need them and can call a game. We have a lot of Latin pitchers and that plays into it as well. Intangibles.

It's good to be the World Champs. Got these bitches emptying the tank with ridiculous contracts just to get a whiff of the Astros arse.

Rosenthal just reported that the Dodgers are NOT pursuing Carlos Correa, or any other player from the 2017 Astros, due to the negative backlash from the fans.
Not surprising. They have gone "all-in" on the "they stole our trophy" narrative. Would be hard to walk that back now.

I’d love for the Cubs to sign Correa. And first series of the season correa call timeout on then proceed to whip Bellinger’s arse right on the field.

Some owners run their team like a business.
Others run it like a secret hobby that they only do when they’re drunk.

Gonna be fun watching those teams meltdown while the big bad orange wrecking ball keeps smashing the media darlings.

All this carnage makes LMJ and Montero's deals a bit better to swallow
And how good is that Yed deal
Timing is everything

My only regret is it’s not 2 years longer. Would take him to 33/34

Yed, Altuve, Bregman deals are all spectacular.
Even LMJ’s deal is a good deal for the Astros.

No kidding. These contacts are getting crazier by the year

It could have been and maybe still could be, dependent on the number of innings we can get, but as of now.....
Nah
And he will have to re-invent himself as a pitcher, again
His future seems to be more inclined to player representation than actual player

McCullers looked great in 2021. I think folks are a little quick to write him off based on a few sloppy (but not awful) regular season starts and one terrible World Series start. Plenty of hope for him if he can stay healthy this off-season and properly rehab/work on himself

I'm certainly being overly pessimistic in his case, but given his history of arm troubles that have never allowed him to reach a full season of innings and/or help the team in the playoffs, I refuse to place any expectations on him.
Whatever he contributes in my book is lagniappe

It really is amazing all these bad long term deals going down in the MLB the past few days yet the Astros don't really have any, especially the Abreu and even Montero deals looking like steals.
I honestly see us winning it all again next year.
