My heart goes out to you and your family. My words don’t mean anything, but I promise you that I will be praying for your son and the rest of your family.

I know you have so much going through your mind and I know you want to be there for the rest of your kids to be their rock during this time. Make sure you take some space and time for you, whatever that means.

Hopefully the Stros game tonight can help take your mind off of everything for a bit

Thanks brother. I appreciate all of the responses, guys. I’ll kindly bow out for the rest of the night because this should be a positive and uplifting thread.

My dude, this has been one of the more positive and uplifting things I’ve seen in awhile. In this seemingly uncaring, unforgiving, and unloving world, we see complete strangers with genuine heartfelt care and concern for you and your family. I can’t imagine what you’re going through but I will definitely lift up you and yours to the Lord.

I hope you're able to find a chuckle that this was the post immediately following your initial post in the thread. May the unique humor and personalities that make up this little community of ours be an escape for you during this difficult time.

I haven’t dealt with that nightmare, but I’d be more than happy to talk with you and just listen if you need to talk with someone. I have two grown sons and can’t imagine what you’re going through.

Baseball doesn’t mean shite in comparison. Just post up if needed.

God blessed you and your son! Make him realize this was no accident that he survived. There is a plan for him.

He tried to fix a temporary problem with a permanent solution.

Your sharing of this comes at time where I can truly relate. My oldest should have died a week ago Sat. T-boned on I-10 by an 18 wheeler at 75 mph. Been in 3 hospitals with multiple fractures and 3rd degree burns. One surgery down, 2 to go

He should make a full recovery. Do you have a prognosis on your son yet? Very good sign he recognized you and could speak

Tough look for Spencer if he’s looking to compete for a starting role in the playoffs. I know San Diego is tough, but out of zone and no swing and miss.

Fathers grind at bats. Spencer has some big misses but they’ve fouled off a bunch of good pitches.

Frustrating night for him
