Too bad Imai is such a flake because they could be focusing on that outfield bat and another rental reliever. Instead, Big Daddy Crane, the former pitcher, wants another stud starter.

Are the Rays deeper?

Are the Yankees deeper?

Just asking questions. Astros had an anomaly pitching wise in April based on the rest of the season and have had a better record than both since June 1.

Not pimping this team but just pointing out how narrow the margins are in the AL

Yes

Also yes

But it's baseball.. anything can happen in a series.

Disagree with both of your takes honestly. And that’s fine.

It will all play out. A lot of the surging teams are down for regression.

I would say that Houston tops this list.

Not going to argue against that, but the last three months screams they’ve already had theirs in April.

We will see. And again I don’t love this team but I can’t reiterate how much the rest of the league absolutely stinks and is flawed if you are paying attention

that’s the scary part. I’m irrationally optimistic about a group that will absolutely make me eat shite

You're not wrong.. the AL sucks.

Those teams have a few less holes than the Astros and the records & run differential show it.

But.. big positive here.. the Astros play better against winning teams.

I just disagree. I see it as they’ve already had their run. It’ll be an awesome last two months

Really interested in whether he can become a “wild card” himself this year.

This Astros team is so dependent on two incredible players to put up runs. It’s not a coincidence they are 37-27 when Pena plays and this run of good play started when he returned. Adding length to their lineup is as important as a SP if they want to do anything in October

Look, I love Springer. But the other rumored guys are way more appealing to me. It’s starting to look like Crane has more interest in “putting the band back together” than getting the best players. Verlander, Carlos…now George?

Springer is a pending free agent.. he should be dirt cheap compared to a guy like Moniak or McCarthy or Larnach.

That's the only upside.

50/50 at best that Springer makes it through without going back on the IL.

Your guys put my Rangers in their place.
Our guys seemingly took former Aggie and Texas gubernatorial candidate Clayton Williams advice by just relaxing and enjoying it.

I hear ya. If we could get him on the cheap like we got Carlos I am all in. But it needs to be coupled with an Abreu for Larnach type of deal. I would lose absolutely zero sleep over Abreu leaving. As I mentioned before I have zero trust in him.
