Gilbert, yes, as expected. We'll see if Leon is the other.

If Gilbert is a piece, I disagree with the move completely.

I’d imagine if Gilbert is included, the Mets are sending some money

The Mets will receive OF Drew Gilbert from the Astros in the deal for Verlander, per source, plus at least one other propsect. It's not known how much money the Mets will send to Houston.

The Astros are headed to New York after tomorrow's game, so Verlander likely meets them in the Big Apple and pitches against the Yankees this weekend. I guess he'll go to the White House on Monday, too.

The Mets were always sending money. They wanted to pay for prospects.

Unless Crane is confident in extending Tucker

Silver lining is that from watching him at Tennessee, he is a dbag of the highest order.

Still some OF depth in the minors, but hate losing Gilbert just really loved his makeup

He's no sure thing but felt like he could have been a contributor for a long time. Hopefully Clifford or Melton develop

We were/are arse-loaded with OF prospects. There will be really good MLB players to emerge from the current farm.

Chas emergence makes me feel better I guess. We have a bunch of good corner OF prospects. But I was hoping if we were unloading Gilbert it would be for someone that extends the window in a way Cole did, not for 15 months of Verlander. We will see

If Gilbert is gone, Crane needs to nut up and actually pay Tucker.

It's likely 2 more full years of Verlander, provided he stays healthy.

So the money paid by the Mets must be a handsome sum.
