With what Luhnow had to say today, kind of sounded like the rug got pulled out from under him?
Angelos and pulling the rope-a-dope?
Yeah, yeah, nah, frick you!

I said last night that my indicator on whether this team plays in the WS this year or not will be if Tony Sipp was on the roster after the trade deadline.
We don't match up rotation or bullpen wise w Cle, Bos, or NY after today.
Odds on McCullers not winning another game the rest of this season are probably in the neighborhood of the odds of him winning a playoff start.
I thought his interview today talking about winning it all w the team as is was profound, coming from a pitcher who can't even go five innings to qualify for a win in his last 4 starts.

I'm sure Jeff had a few plans in place but it does seem within the last hour the Orioles bailed.

It sounds like not only did Angelos axe the agreement between Luhnow and Duquette, but he also turned them into buyers by 3 p.m. going out and getting Tim Beckham
Absurd, but what are you gonna do?

The nerve of a player on a team who is 68-36 saying he feels confident in his team going forward

McCann can't do shite but ground straight into the shift lately.

Def should have said a bunch of negative shite instead
Posted on 7/31/17 at 7:31 pm to TXGunslinger10
I've said this a billion times in the past couple weeks, but McCann looks so fricking bad right now at the plate.

Def should've gone the Profar route
shite, we should have taken note of the Rangers buying big at the deadline last season and done the same.

I think it's time for an updated DAT Positivity ranking.

Angelos is a dummy. Brittons value will never be higher than is right now.
It is what is. We'll just have to make due, hopefully Luhnow did all he could and make the right decisions.
I wouldn't mind taking on Verlander if LMJ is going to be a question going forward. His money would come off the books before Springer and Correa are due big money.
His last year only vests if he's top 5 in Cy Young in 2019

I am interested in what happened with Zach Britton and why the deal didn't happen? The Orioles asked for too much? Astros didn't want to give up the prospects? I'm curious about what happened here. Britton would have been a great fit, despite the fact he's been hurt/not good when playing this year.
