I wouldn’t mind JV accepting at all, would be better than the 30+ we’ve paid the last 2 years.
I think they’ll find a way to resign Correa. I think they’ll have to after letting George walk

I hope you're right. I love that dude. He makes the team immensely better, even when his bat is in a funk.

Why would the go after a player hurt move often that Springer that offers zero current value to the team? He just now started gripping a baseball. He won't be back any time soon.
Because a trade for him is about winning in October. They have enough to win the West right now. Get him healthy for when he's needed most, plus you get him next year as well.

Yes please, but not realistic
It is realistic because he's being shopped. He also helps you contend for a title this year and next. Will Click/Crane want to meet the price. Odds say no but they just might because the owner really wants to win.

This is why I think it is unrealistic. I don't think the Astros have the pieces (that they will be willing to give up) to make it work.

An example of, "I've got no inside info to report, so I'm going to post something that is common knowledge and hope that people think I'm giving them a scoop."
Seriously, the really good teams and good front offices have probably discussed dozens of scenarios with multiple teams over the past 24 hours.

Everyone buying has talked to everyone selling. Multiple times.

Jose Berrios market is on fiyah. Some contender is getting him.
Posted on 7/29/21 at 3:07 pm to Jwho77
Yeah I’m afraid we may have a tough time competing in that market for him prospect wise

I know I would not want to be the NL West team that has to face him in that wildcard game

I hope you’re right. But unless he wants to settle for less than 7 years, I can’t see it happening at this point. I could be wrong. But they offered him a 5-year deal before the season. He has a long injury history, they’ve got one SS prospect in Jeremy Pena and they’ve worked Pedro Leon at SS even though he’s mainly a CF.
I think Correa is gone unless he’s willing to take a deal in the 5-to-7-year range. And maybe he’s willing to do that. I hope I’m wrong and I hope he stays.

I would MUCH rather this than LAD or SF

I dont hate the Padres. I find their success refreshing there's teams not just conceding the west to the Dodgers.

Deal is on the 1 yd line.

So, what you're saying is, there's a chance.
