Bryant has played all 3 OF positions this season.

I'd leave Tucker and Brantley alone and put Bryant in CF, but he can also play on the infield if there are injuries.

They won't.

What do you do with Bryant? Move Tucker to CF with Bryant in RF?

I think the plan would be to move Bryant to CF.

The only other thing that makes sense here...

Bregman moves to SS.
Bryant plays 3B.

Correa moved to a fringe contending team for 2 top-tier prospects and 1 mid-tier prospect.

I'm not advocating that move... just saying, of all the trade scenarios, there are very few options right now that don't create as many issues as they solve.

The ones that involve moving prospects for current major leaguers, which are like 95% of the trades that happen, don’t create issues this year.

There is a less than 0% chance they trade Correa

The roof would blow off Minute Maid. Then you'll have to deal with the clubhouse mutiny.

Agreed. But, looking at just what has been posted in this thread the past two days... there are at least 4 prospects that are "untouchable"... which happen to be the better prospects in the system. So if they are untouchable, how do you get a current major leaguer that improves the team?

You can't. Some current ML talent will have to be moved too.

Let's say Click moves Straw and replaces him with Bryant? Who else gets moved? And, is that an over-the-top improvement, meaning, does it push the needle from WS potential to WS definitely? Personally, I don't think it does, not without some other significant moves.

Simple fact is, Dusty is not going anywhere. So, for *any* chance of success in the post season, they have to make the SP and RP decisions Dusty-proof. That means a lot more needs to be invested in the bullpen.

Best option out there - Kimbrel. Currently, about 5 other teams have also come to that obvious conclusion. His price will be huge.

Click can't maneuver the next 24 hours without using current ML players as trade chips. I just don't see it possible.

Would a Yed LF Tuck CF Brantley RF work? I know I’ve seen Brantley play RF. Just not sure about Tuck in CF.

Prediction: astros get one more tier 2 reliever.

Red sox get sherzer and Rizzo.

Bryant to SF

Story to the yankees.

Correa to Yankees for prospects

Those prospects plus Straw and Javier for Bryant and Kimbrel

Change Bryant position to CF

Play the World Series

Really though, it sounds like you just figured out why the Astros aren’t likely to make some massive move. Also Kimbrel won’t be that expensive

I can see it working out just like this.

Keep in mind... Astros are already close to the luxury tax. No way in hell they go over just for a couple more tier-2 relievers. So, they will either blow the luxury tax to hell and back, or they won't move the needle with any trade.

Tucker has played some CF in the minors... it could work.

The Astros won't cross the tax line for any reliever, including Kimbrel, who they'd pay for in prospect quality to avoid his salary this season. I think the Cubs, who are rebuilding and not salary dumping, are going to offer to pay full 2021 salary on every guy they trade to get a better return.

As for the tax line, I can see Click/Crane getting adventurous on a very small list of guys like Scherzer, Turner, Berrios or Buxton.

If we manage to overcome Dusty and get to the WS, we will need it. It would be brutal seeing Yed in the dugout while Straw bats.

Holy shite. My mom came into my room to bring me a plate of chicken nuggets and I literally screamed at her and hit the plate of chicken nuggets out of her hand. She started yelling and swearing at me and I slammed the door on her.
I'm so distressed right now I don't know what to do. I didn't mean to do that to my mom but I'm literally in shock from the results tonight. I feel like I'm going to explode. Why the fricking frick are they losing? This can't be happening. I'm having a fricking breakdown. I don't want to believe the world is so corrupt. I want a future to believe in. I want Labron to win a title for The Land. I cannot fricking deal with this right now. It wasn't supposed to be like this, I thought they were supposed to steal one in the Oracle???? This is so fricked.

Buxton
Why would the go after a player hurt move often that Springer that offers zero current value to the team? He just now started gripping a baseball. He won't be back any time soon.

quote:

Berrios
This would be a great move.

quote:

Turner
Yes please, but not realistic. Really depends on what happens with Story.

quote:

Scherzer
Most realistic option, depending on the anti-Astros report about Scherzer no-trade opinions.

Because we went over last year, if we go over again this year and make QOs to JV & Correa and they turn them down, the compensation picks would be after the 4th instead of the 2nd.

It’s an interesting dynamic in that I’m sure they’d like to have those 2 picks after the 2nd round being we haven’t picked in rounds 1 or 2 the last 2 years

I think JV would accept a QO.

I think he's in it for one more year, to figure out if he *really* wants to keep playing, or if he'd rather stay at home and see his daughter grow up.

My prediction, JV is back next season (if he pitches at all).

Correa is gone.
