Why wait? Player-manager Maldy.

doesn’t look to me like his teammates care that he’s hitting .170.
For sure. He's got a helluva arm, and watching him mow down a runner is an outright joy.

With that said, I've been reading how analytic-focused teams are starting to put more emphasis on the catcher's offense rather than his defensive capabilities. Not sure I fully buy their argument, especially with someone like Maldy who can help with keeping a young pitcher in rhythm/focused.

The Diamondbacks released former top prospect and Rice Owl, Jon Duplantier, yesterday. I didn’t realize how far he’d fallen in the prospect world.

Lets see if what Dixie Normus said yesterday is really in the works here.

The bullpen still isn’t great. The way it is currently constructed we’re pretty much required to get 6 out of a starter and throw any number of trash at the 7th and or the 6th if the starter can only go 5 (Abreu/Bielak/Javier/Raley/Taylor/Stanek,etc) just to get to Graveman & Pressly

Yeah him too. I’m hoping moving back to a non-closer role gives him a little boost too

I’d really like to pick up Hudson or an actual effective lefty if someone like Kimbrel is not within reach

I still think Click is looking for a big CF upgrade or at least a utility guy better than Robel in case Correa misses any playoff time.

Because he and his wife want to stay

Hard to imagine Miss Texas living anywhere besides Texas.

I got bashed for saying this last year when so many thought Springer was the face of this team and no way he would leave. It was so obvious to me that George and Charlize really didn't care about Houston. They got off to the NE and visited friends and family up there every chance they got. They spend the offseason there. Carolos and Daniella are exactly the opposite. She's from the valley and he's an easy flight from Puerto Rico. They both fit in Houston so well. They are active in the community and make this their true home.

But last year ere body thought he was leaving and Springer would stay because he loved Houston. We have a chance at Carlos if the Astros don't blow it. They can't disrespect him and lowball. Then he will leave.

It looks like they look up to him like a big brother. He has a ton of baseball knowledge and plays extremely well defensively. I could see him becoming a manager someday.

He provides a team chemistry that is unmatched.

All this. And his comments against the Yankees about being a little warm were the best!

The Astros travel with extra and blank jerseys in case players are traded to them or called up while on the road.

I spoke to the team about it, they said clubhouse and equipment staff handle the process.

On lettering and #'s: "There’s someone on staff that is adept at sewing"
