I'd give the Diamondbacks a call about David Peralta.

Throw Trea Turner in there, too.

I left him out because he hasn't played CF since 2016 and reportedly isn't open to moving positions.

If we trade for him, he will not have a choice.

If he gets traded he probably won’t have a choice, guessing most of the teams on him are moving him to 2B or maybe center

What’s everyone’s predictions?

I’m thinking Click balks at giving up any top guys and we stay under the tax. Pick up one more arm.

I’m guessing Ian Kennedy.

Jon Daniels is trash and Rangers ownership is a bunch of scam artists that are using the team to backdoor their way into owning a casino in Texas.

Big things are coming.

ETA: with limited resources at. Click’s disposal, he’s got to maximize his return.

Consider the best options available for each of CF, SP, RP.

All this talk about CF… no option out there raises the floor enough.

Starting pitching.
Relief Pitching.

Either of those raise the floor significantly.

Click needs to be focused getting more help for pressly or more help for greinke.

“Watching (Graveman) as a starter with Oakland, his lack of a secondary pitch I think kind of hurt him. But he’s developed a much better slider and he’s fallen into a pretty good role here as a shorter guy,” Strom said. “It’s funny. In the (eighth) inning of the game we gave away (on Monday), Carlos (Correa) came by me and tapped me on the shoulder and pointed to the mound and said, ‘That guy would look good with an H on his jersey.’ I’ve always liked him.”

There’s no meetings on the mound anymore w/o Correa

He is the leader of this team

Like it or not

If we are done dealing, it may be a sign that the Astros make him a legitimate lifetime contract, and take their chances on the young pitchers all panning out

I'll throw another wild card kind of move out there.

Using Urquidy to get Luis Castillo.

I would say Maldy is the leader of the team, but I’m not in the clubhouse, but I am in the Rooms To Go Pregame Studios, and that’s what Kevin Eschenfeller tells me.

Because he and his wife want to stay, they could very well work something out. As I'm sure you'd agree, it's more likely they do re-sign him if they win the WS this year than if they don't.

You can’t be the leader of a team hitting .170, unless you’re the ace of the pitching staff

But I do think it’s cool you have that kind of access to people that closely associated with the team

It doesn’t look to me like his teammates care that he’s hitting .170.

It looks like they look up to him like a big brother. He has a ton of baseball knowledge and plays extremely well defensively. I could see him becoming a manager someday.

He provides a team chemistry that is unmatched. He loves being an Astro and when he signed a deal with the Cubs in 2019, he demanded to be traded back to the Astros before the trade deadline and that request was accepted. I shudder to think what our record would be without Maldy. The team didn’t seem the same in April when Maldy had to miss because of Covid protocol.
