No, it doesn’t. Their performances and contracts are completely independent from each other. Devenski failing doesn’t suddenly make him earn more money because of Joe Smith’s contract.

And the obvious answer to your question is Osuna

probably shouldn’t be starting as often as he is

And that’s the biggest problem. A guy making half a mil should not be playing as much as he does, ESPECIALLY since he’s playing as good or worse than a guy with a half a mil salary.

Should be the opposite except just don't follow James up w/ Valdez.

They should let James go as long as his velo is up but it seems they just aren't going to let him try to be a starter this year. Meh.

If Hinch was where he wanted to be, he would no doubt sit Trout, and that was before his calf stiffened.

He was at the ASG. I mean, damn, if they would just treat him like a human instead of a machine.

Good win today boys. I'll take that and run with it. Only problem now though is we get to see the pile of shite our pitching will look like the next 2 games. Should be interesting.

I have a strange feeling that this could work...

But what in the hell will Tuesday look like?

Feels like we've done this every year. Good/solid 1-3 and a total shitshow make shift revolving door of minor leaguers 4-5.

I'm starting to debate we will see much movement, I don't think the new deadline will help

I'm starting to think the Astros have been backed into a corner so they may have to end up taking on a high salary pitcher to fill the playoff need.

What

Last year the 4/5 spots were one of Keuchel or Morton and Lance McCullers

I'm not talking about the game performance, I'm talking about the chaos of the role. In terms of choosing who was in what role, it was always changing.

2017 was more about injuries though.
