Was not surprised by yesterday's turn out. There was no way the Yankees were going to drop the first 2 games of the season at home. Would I have liked the score to be closer...yes. Granted, I did not get to watch the game so I only got the updates on my phone and it seemed like we at least had a little bit of fire to try and compete. Today's a new day. You're only as good as your last outing, so lets turn it around now.

Geaux Astros!

A solid 6 or 7 from Fiers today would be huge, even if they don't win. The Brewers are terribad but they need the pen relatively fresh

I didn't realize how far inside that ball was on his second one until I rewatched it. Lower half and in and he hits it like 430 in dead center

Gonna end up being a night game, if anything. They could have moved the game up to Noon Eastern time, but there was no guarantee they'd beat the afternoon rain.

This year's DAT lady mascot may have to be Seven-of-Nine from Star Trek:

Reason? We love 7 of 9 players in the batting order. And then there's Gomez and Castro.

This makes complete sense.

I hung around and watched most of the game last night just to watch the guys bat, except Gomez and Castro. Castro just sucks but I already knew that. Gomez, I expect more from him. Ima be pissed if he's not shifted to the bottom of the lineup soon.

I wonder how long they will stick with gomez and his schtick. He has horrible at bats over and over. White and tucker need to be hitting 5 and 6 and move his arse way down.

I would rather see Jake Marisnick.

Quite awhile. Which will be intolerable if they don't move him down to the bottom of the order versus RHP.

If Gomez is going to hit sub-.250, there isn't much difference between the two except Jake is probably a better baserunner at this point in their careers.

Remember the Correa/Byron Buxton debate?

And Marisnick is significantly younger and has team control. I want to win now but Marisnick still has some potential to unlock with the bat and getting more ML ABs will go a long way towards that. I'm not going to give up on Gomez after two games this year (or 15) but if it gets to Mid May or so and he's still sucking then you have to start giving Jake the lion's share of the ABs. In the meantime I think you'll see Marisnick still play a good amount, wouldn't be surprised if he's in the lineup today

ETA in defense of Gomez he absolutely stung one directly at Headley yesterday. A couple feet higher and it's a double

Minor league opening day tonight. We'll want to keep track of Corpus for the starting pitching, Fresno for the corner IF and relief pitching, and Quad Cities for Tucker and Daz.
