Is this how everybody feels about the Astros?
Don't kid yourself
Going see the Astros at an away venue not only gives you the chance to see their batting practice, but your chances of seeing them win become exponentially higher
Any true Astros fan is keenly aware of this

Noted, yea I figured I'll try all of the staples while up there and I think there is a Lou Malnati's within walking distance of our hotel.
18 days until college baseball. Not my favorite watch, but it's baseball played at a good level.
26 days until Spring Training games start.
We are inching towards the season.

Yep, my first ever Spring Training this year going to see the Cubbies play two games in Mesa.

Aaron Hicks signed with the Angels. If we're looking for LH free agent outfielders, I'd rather just go internal at this point. Remaining FA options aren't great.

I think 95-67 wins the AL West, and at the very least, gets us in the playoffs.
How do we get there?
March/April 17-12
May 17-12
June 15-10
July 15-11
August 17-11
September 15-11
95-67

Astros traded for Trey Cabbage from the Angels, pretty sure Hoohoo was on him earlier in this thread maybe? Or maybe a poster on the subreddit mentioned him it all runs together.
Looks like a bit of a AAAA player, bat didn’t travel to his short stint in the big leagues last year.
26 years old, pretty good runner, mostly plays corner outfield and 1B swinging from the left side

Hit .306 with 30 homers and 32 steals in AAA last year but was pretty dreadful in his call up. Feels like we got ourselves another Julks, Dirden type.
Looked up some video of him and he hits some absolute bombs. Hid first ML homer cleared the batters eye shrubs in Anaheim.

Nice little transaction. Power and speed plus a really good MiLB walk rate. You never know.

I think this deal is well worth the risk. Guy should be getting right into his prime. I can’t fault his small sample size in Majors last year most guys struggle in that short stint. If he can do what he’s done in minors last two seasons we are looking at a steal

Hunter Brown is adding a more traditional slider into the mix for this season. His slider averaged 91.3 but he's touched 94-96 with it before.

We’re just going for something that the biggest thing is going to be the velocity change we’re shooting for,” Brown said. “Just kind of started working on it over the last couple of weeks as throwing intensified. I’ve thrown two bullpens so far these past two

First thing he did after they called him was punch himself in the face…reportedly.
At least he started off his season with a strike.

throwing that frisbee shite, sometimes he couldn't find the plate with a map but he was an overall solid bullpen piece with moments of brilliance.

And he was so awesome in the post season. 18 appearances and only 1 run allowed

Should be an upgrade from Julks or Kellenick (sp?).

Bobby Witt, Jr gets 11 years for $288 million.
Where does that put Bregman in today's market?
5.3 WAR 35.4
308 G 966
1326 PA 4198
327 H 981
50 HR 165
176 RBI 588
79 SB 39
.265 BA .274
.307 OBP .373
.463 SLG .487
.770 OPS .861
111 OPS+ 135
Granted, Witt is going into his age 24 season where Bregman is going into his age 30 season.
Does this move the needle off of Bregman's dream of 10 year $300 million? It has to move his market down to around 6 year / $175 million?

Witt is 6 years younger and plays a different position. Chapman is the one to look at for a comp with whatever he ends up getting
