Was going through my Imgur pics and forgot I took this when I had SRO tix for game 3 of the World Series
Should’ve gotten a better angle/pic for photoshop purposes
it was on the wall of the escalator in the left field corner by the team store

Did anybody ever end up making the shirts from his drunken locker room radio interview where he yelled "Where the frick is Arlington"
I know one of the radio stations in Houston was talking about making the shirt

LMJ takes a strong 1-0 lead over Bregs in the two-man race for Astros shite Talker of the Year in 2018.

Excellent news, good deal for both parties

Yep. Wish they could have gotten a 5 year deal but he knows he will be getting Monster money in 2 years. At least this appears to be a good Faith move on the clubs part.

So did I read the report right... We now have 3 more years of Control of springer even tho we signed him to a 2 year deal?
Rosenthal says he will get one more year of arbitration when this 2 year deal expires so we get 18, 19, and 20 before he could become a FA.

Seems like a great deal for the Astros to get an extra year out of George. I'm surprised Springer agreed to delay free agency

It was an obvious low ball arbitration offer to ensure a Springer win, but glad we dealt in good faith with this new deal.
A bit surprised about an extra year of control, but I have felt all along that making Correa expendable probably gives you the best chance of keeping the most core players.
Altuve should be the only given. If you accept that keeping everybody through free agency is probably not feasible, Bregman could play short if Correa grabs Yankee dollars, and Springer becomes more doable.

Maybe he doesn't mind delaying free agency because he is happy where he is and he knows money isn't everything. He did get a good little raise out of it. It also lets him look at how committed the Astros are to keeping this core together over the next couple seasons.

He didn’t, we’d have him for 3 years regardless of the contract he signed today

One week before the best rotation in baseball reports to Spring Training to prep for their season of kicking arse.
I am so ready for some baseball.
