Playoff Yu is on par with regular season gregerson, we dont need that, we've got 4 good starters already, we need pen help. Remember when we had dotel-lidge-wagner and it was over in the 6th if we had a lead? We need that again, our bats are gonna score, we just cant have a bullpen blowing leads every game in the playoffs again.

Yes they won like 83 games that year

I am guessing Arrieta would come a good deal cheaper than Yu

He actually was pretty dominant in the two series before us+if you buy into us picking up on him tipping his pitches (which I do) who better to point that out to him and get it fixed?

I think Arrieta's done. Yu or Archer would be a really strong number 3 (or 4 if you think LMJ is our 3).

I just think that the rays will want a significant haul for archer and I don't think he's worthy of that. Jmo. I'm fine with trading prospects but still want to be smart about it.

Yu would be the thrid starter. You have to take that if you can get it.

The tipping pitches thing was absolutely true. Go look at LMJ’s at bat, altuve is in his ear coaching him like a kid that just learned some juicy gossip.

Plus, I'd like to see what Strom can do to help Yu maximize his potential.

Yes, I think we owned him, but few else have.

You must consider it.

As far as tipping pitches, I rewatched Game 7 of the WS last night, and Altuve walked late in the game, then stole second on Jansen's first pitch after a throw over.

When taking his lead off second, he was facing Correa and looked like he was playing charades.

He actually imitated Jansen's exaggerated windup w some kind of signal. Guess he figured WTH at this point, we won't face him again until next year.

Are you going to sign Yu then let Keuchel walk after next year. I don't think we're going to sign Yu and resign Keuchel, with what he'll be looking to get.

I don’t think we are resigning Keuchel regardless

Jeff Luhnow said he’s optimistic the Astros will make a move at the winter meetings or shortly after. Improving their bullpen remains the Astros’ primary focus this winter.

Astros made efforts to land Giancarlo but never came very close to a deal. They do have $ coming off the championship and will take a look at darvish/arrieta, tho they will take a “disciplined” approach. @Ken_Rosenthal mentioned ace possibility

Who knows how bad this ankle thing is. What if its really bad and he struggles next year, nobody is gonna throw $30m/year at a 31 year old coming off an injury plagued season, it could actually work out in our favor if he's not healthy next year. I think Dallas is gonna age well bc he's not a power pitcher, Glavine was ok late into his career.

Glavine never had the injury problems that Dallas has. He's becoming glass.

Luhnow put a bit of a squash on the starter talks

Luhnow didn’t rule out the Astros acquiring a starting pitcher. "You could argue that if we added a starter it takes one of our starters and puts him in the 'pen and that's another way to improve our team,” he said.

But, of the available starters, Luhnow said: "Typically the ones that we like require much more significant commitments and we're not sure that that's the best path for us to take right now."

Also, Marwin has hired Scott Boras. That's now Keuchel, Altuve and Marwin who have flipped to Boras in recent seasons.

Well, they can't take 2017 from us, ever.

When does Marwin's control end?
