With Lance out do we go with Greinke or Javier for game 4?

I think we will be lucky if javi hasn’t pitched a lot by game 4.

I think you go grienke and hope the defense shows up. Braves like the long ball and he can produce a lot of soft outs

We should look to be opportunistic with Christian in Game 1 with the idea you need to have him available Game 4 IMO. I think I’d rather start Odorizzi than Zack honestly

Stinky could get us 3-4 innings if he keeps them relatively clean. Then CK, I like the idea of telling CK ahead of time that he's coming in for the 4th and to prepare accordingly as if he's starting the game. Use Maton/Raley to bridge from Stinky if you have to.

Hows bout Jason Castro...

Was around through the whole rebuild. Was here for the return to the playoffs as a wild card team but wasn't invited to return in 2017 the year we won the World Series. That had to be a dick punch. We've had our words with Castro over the years but it's somewhat poetic for him to finally reach the world series with the Astros and he had a key role in it.

Yeah I’d prefer Greinke over Odorizzi. Let him eat some innings in relief if necessary.

He had a huge moment in that ALCS too. He seemed genuinely happy in the interview after, good for him

I think it will be Grienke based on his experience , if game 1-3 starters give us length and wins I can see a BP game to close it out

I think Phil can really play a big role potentially
Pen shut down a better sox offense after gm 3

offensively for the season the sox white/red were better than the braves
postseason Boston was better, Chicago equal to and our compromised pitching was enough
despite 1-3 going in a hole for the ALCS

Houston Astros
AL 10 345 67 97 15 1 13 65 36 84 7 0 .281 .353 .443 .797

Atlanta Braves
NL 10 332 40 83 12 2 12 39 31 101 5 1 .250 .319 .407 .725

postseason Atlantas team ERA was about a run better than Houston in the same # of games the Astros scored 27 more runs

Did y’all see Chirinos was in the stands with his family for game 6— all decked out in Astros gear cheering for the good guys?

Chirinos, Reddick, and Joe Smith have all been to post season games at MMP.

I had purged 2020 ALCS 7 from memory but let's hope Chuck doesn't do that to us again.

Also I think it should be mentioned that with this time the Astros can plan to throw Grienke in game three or four and have Castro start in the other game so that you avoid and batting hole with the 8&9 for those obsessed with Maldy hitting and Pitchers hitting

I keep thinking that the Braves are the team of destiny that got hot at the perfect time like the 2019 Nats

But they also don't have Scherzer and peak Strasburg starting 4 games

Since the Brewers switched to the NL, every team they've lost to in the playoffs has won the NL Championship. All but 1 has won the World Series. The 2018 Dodgers lost to Boston in the WS. The Phillies, Cardinals, Nats and 2020 Dodgers have all advanced to win it all after playing the Brewers.

The Braves also went 44-22 from August 1st till the end of the RS, the best record in MLB.

Pretty remarkable run. Really makes people (of any team) look silly melting in April and May that their seasons are over

Mediots were trashing the Braves for making trade deadlines moves.
