After he throws the pitch, DAT baw will instruct Verlander on a strict diet and pole run regimen for him, Frank Tuesday and his new bride Kate Verlanderton.

. I'm guessing the team's baserunning, conditioning, hustle and discipline are all going to be on point.

Sadly, I was never considered for Opening Day.
Something about not even making the DAT Community Leaderboard.
I'm brushing up on Iphone/internet skills, and plan on making a run at next year.
I will note that Reddick's early season laziness (lack of effort) definitely showed up come October. He promises no slacking this season.

A real manager would have poked him in the chest and called him fat and lazy.
Too bad Billy Martin is gone and Bo Porter is training MLB prisoners at GITMO.

Reddick should have to run poles at the West U little league fields for a month before he gets his ring IMO FWIW

Just registered for my chance to order single game tickets five days early, baws.
Thank you for registering for the 2018 Astros Single Game Ticket Presale Opportunity.
Official Rules:
Registration for the 2018 Single Game Ticket Presale will begin at 9:00am Central Time (CT), February 19, 2018. The Astros will conduct a random selection of winners from the pool of registrants. A random drawing for the opportunity to purchase up to four (4) 2018 Astros Single-Game Tickets at Minute Maid Park in Houston, TX will be held on or about Monday, 02/26/2018. Each applicant selected will be notified by Tuesday, February 27, 2018 via the e-mail address submitted on the registration form. Those applicants whose names are selected shall have an opportunity to purchase tickets at a date and time to be indicated in the e-mail, on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants whose name is selected will receive an email within 1 hour of the stated sale date and time with the link to make their purchase and their unique password. Ticket limits are applied to individuals. All purchases are subject to cancellation for any individual using multiple emails to obtain multiple passwords.
In the event that the winner does not respond to such notification by purchasing tickets in the timeframe indicated, a disqualification will result. Please be sure to provide us with an accurate e-mail address. Neither MLB Advanced Media, L.P. nor the Astros are responsible for any e-mail notifications that are bounced back or misdirected.
There is no charge to register for the 2018 Single Game Ticket Presale presale. There is no obligation to buy a ticket. Because this is a first-come, first-served opportunity there is no guarantee that tickets will be available during the sale. Tickets may include single seats, obstructed view seating and standing room only. There is no assurance that any particular registrant will be selected. Winners may not transfer this purchase opportunity or presale access. You may not use any tickets purchased in connection with the drawings for any promotional purposes whatsoever. Registrations have no cash redemptions or substitutions.
In order to be eligible for these opportunities, you must be eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. In addition, you must complete and submit the entry form located above during the Registration Period. Limit one entry per person. In the case of multiple entries for the same individual, only the first entry received will be considered. Only entries submitted to the Astros during the Registration Period will be entered in the random drawing. Entries generated by a script, macro, or other mechanical or automated means will not be valid. All customers identified utilizing these methods to acquire tickets will be contacted and order will be cancelled.

Hopefully I’ll be moving back to the coast this year and can attend some games. Being in West Texas sucks dick

Article from Jake Kaplan (now at The Athletic) about Bregs commitment to diet and getting in better shape. Behind a paywall but the site is pretty great, worth the $4-5 a month IMO.

“I had a good year, but it wasn't really good to my standards,” he said. “I had a good second half, played pretty decent in the postseason, but the first half was friggin' terrible. It wasn't like me at all. I want to be a great player in this game. I want to win (multiple) World Series. I want to be a star in this game. If I want to take my game to the next level I've got to take care of my body. If I want to play for 20 years I've got to take care of my body. That's really what sparked it.”

Bregs looks jacked in that before/after picture
ETA: subscription to the Athletic is worth it, great articles for sports, the Kaplan article was much more in depth that what Tags wrote
Bregs used to drink 8 Dr Peppers a day

I'm curious to see if he shows up in decent shape. Fat boy's window is closing in a hurry.

Losing Juan Centeno hurts. That dude was clutch.

They didn't trust him defensively and his offense wouldn't keep Gattis from the lineup
Would have been interesting had the Rangers not claimed him though
Looks like Stassi's job to lose at this point

Wish the Rangers would have taken Stassi.

AL West news.
The Angels are lowering the HR line on the RF wall from 18 feet to 8 feet which is about the spit between the ads.
Ironically the picture I took from the article is a game against us where Kole Calhoun hit an RBI double which would be a 2 run homer this season.
