Was called for federal jury duty with him years ago. He spent most of the time hiding in another room and working, I suppose (he had just won exec of the year). His lucky arse was not selected.

Eh, if they had been winning I don't think he'd be gone. He definitely lost his luster. Also started sounding highly arrogant. The Jared McCain situation looks AWFUL right now.

He’s not overrated. He changed the way every team in the NBA plays basketball. Most people credit Steph Curry with the increase in the 3 point shot. But in reality it was Daryl Morey who every team tried to copy with increasing the volume of 3s.
Increased 3s, more free throws, shooting less midrange, positionless basketball, small ball lineups, etc were all taken from Morey. Whether you like that style or not, his impact on the game has been immense.
It’s hard to win in the NBA even when you are on the cutting edge.
