if he gets 30 mil, then qb from baltimore better get 45mil per.

seriously, Jones is lucky he has barkley at rb, or he'd be even shittier, and he actually has 2-3 good wr's.

this shows you how horrible the qb situation is in nfl. outside of 10-15? rest are mediocre who would of never saw the field, 10 years ago or so.

there are some really bad starters in nfl. and dont get me started about backups.

hodgins and slayton are good wr's, who work perfect with barkley.

you could put in many other qb's in this situation and they would put up big numbers.

Yes a 6th round receiver on his 2nd team is "good" He had a good end of the season, he played in 8 games with the Giants after being cut by Buffalo.

Hell, Slayton is serviceable and a good complimentary receiver but neither of these two mentioned would be a #1 for any team.

Outside of Barkley and Jones the Giants had very little in the way of weapons.

Giants should sign him now while they can. If they keep kicking the can down the road they'll end up like the Cowboys w/Dak and have to pay him even more.

Or they could both let them walk and find someone else.

shite let Daboll get his own guy in the draft. He is a proven QB whisperer with Allen and having a non-trash year out of Jones.

I get wanting your max value but personally I would work with my team to make bank but also leave room for my weapons.

Lol at suggesting Slayton and Hodgins are good weapons. DJ carried their offense this year, give him a true #1, an AJ Brown type player and you’ll see how good that cat really is. The Giants couldn’t have grabbed a better HC to develop DJ, compare his mobility, height, and weight to Josh Allen and you can understand why some people are jumping the gun on DJ. He could be very special, I’d prefer $35 mil if I was the Giants but like others said, I’m sure DJ’s high ask has wiggle room

Only the Giants would be stupid enough to take that seriously.

Personally I hope they pay it and suck for the next 5 years
But this is getting out of hand
He was the 18th ranked Qb last season.
Justin Fields
Jared Goff
were ranked above him
He is serviceable if I had the choice of Daniel Jones or Andy Dalton I take Dalton easily and not because he's going to only cost me 15 million. The Giants aren't winning anything as long as philly has that front office. Not that I like the Cowboys the are better then the giants.
The giants had a healthy saquan Barkley that won't last.

It's because GMs are too scared to let a mediocre QB walk. They pay guys like Kirk Cousins as if they're irreplaceable and it ends up killing their franchises.

There is absolutely no way the Giants should pay him that much money, but idiotic GMs will grossly overpay for mediocre stability. The only QB in the entire league worth that kind of money is Mahomes.

He’s Daniel Jones, not Dak

Blame the teams who keep giving into the average QBs. All it will do is take 1 to say no and more will start doing it.

Daniel is playing with fire. He is not quite at the level where a team will say "how will we ever replace daniel jones" lol

We’re going to reach a stage where teams recycle rookie contract QBs as a strategy instead of a circumstance if these deals for mediocre/bad starting QBs keep rising

I've been shouting this from the mountaintops for years. More teams should absolutely be doing this.

Because the lower levels are all about winning now. They don’t have incentives to develop QBs for the pros

This is why high school has JV and college has 85 scholarships. Pro practice squads aren’t nearly big enough

Especially when the team seems to have one of the better coaches in the league at developing qbs.

Jones will get 35-40m, if the Giants let him go they tank their playoff chances next season unless they sign Jimmy G who will cost about the same
