I don't care if you don't hate him. To ask why others do though? He has the worst fricking contract in baseball. He's a loaf & bad example to the younger players.

He is just so gifted athletically it just appears he isn't even trying when he really is

You are completely clueless.

You don't watch enough games if you think I'm clueless.
Doesn't run out balls.
Lackadaisical in the field going after balls.
Lacks focus on defense overall.
Not a good example for the younger players. You honestly can't tell me otherwise.

First off, the list of major leaguers that run out every single ground ball hit to the shortstop is pretty damn short. Not saying it is the right way to do things, but it is what it is in todays game. If you're best argument is to tell me that he doesn't run out very ground ball, you have no argument.
Second off, he had the fewest errors among Cub outfielders with 2 last year. He has the best arm by far and away in the outfield. He may not be the best, but as I said once he is certainly a serviceable outfielder in the big leagues. You have nothing here either.
I'm done wasting my time arguing with you. You act like a dick to anyone that has a different opinion than you do.

I can say with 100% conviction that you have no clue what you are talking about here. You are doing me a favor, so don't sweat it.

Busts his arse?
That guy never has tried. He is lazy and never hustles.

One thing I will say is that Byrd was never a better player than Soriano in a cubs uniform
Should have said more valuable. He played good defense and had a solid year at the plate a couple of years ago. Comparing lf vs cf performance is pretty hard to do, but even the mighty hoffpair could have played a better lf in '10 and '11.

Lots of young talent building for a bright future. 75-80 wins would be fine by me this year
76 seems to be the magic number most talking heads are predicting. But i think it's impossible to say. Only becaue while the roster might project as a 76 win team if it's like last year the roster won't look anything like that at the trade deadline. Because even last year at the start of the season that wasn't a 90+ loss team.

I still don't really understand the Soriano hate
I understand it, but i think it's misguided at best at times.
Soriano isn't the lazy sack of shite some would try to have you believe. I believe we as cubs fans are always looking for a scapegoat and he fits the bill right now. With that said, i'll be tickled to be rid of him.

Thank you. All I have been saying the entire time. You clearly have a clue about the Cubs. As far as him remaining a Cub, I will say I won't be heartbroken if he gets traded like I would Castro, Rizzo, Samardzija, or Baez, but I also won't be jumping up and down celebrating.
The Cubs have a very young core of talent and I realize he want be a part of the Cubs long term plans, but in the short term, I like him in LF, hit over 30 home runs and drove in over 100 runs.
