Tell me you know nothing about soccer, without actually saying it.

Just in case you are receptive at all to consider changing your position, Saudi just offered a French player 700M for a 1 year contract, they would have paid his team 300M for playing yes again, 1 year.

NFL has a salary cap of 225M per year… for the entire team!

So why would a top athlete want to play soccer? Money

Americans aren’t making that money

Technically speaking if an American player was as good as Kylian Mbappe, they would probably receive a similar offer.

Bro these kids start sports at a super young age. It isn’t like they are making their sport decisions based off of financial planning (with a few exceptions like Jamie’s, Kyle Murray, Russell Wilson).

With that loss the US women will likely bring home around $2mm. The men got $13mm last year.

The two teams will now split the approximate $15mm under the new agreement.

Literally can't believe allegedly smart people fell for that socialist equality bullshite. You want eQuAl PaY, generate equal revenue. This country's going to hell in a hand basket.

Well now you have given me a reason to root against the men's team if they are splitting their money with the women. I hope they lose every game now.

Basically just shows me everyone in USA Soccer is a complete jackass

frick em all

I'm glad the men got bent over and I am glad the women lost

frick em all

Notice how the NBA doesn't split money equally with the WNBA

The women can take 40% of the men’s winnings but they’ll never have the respect or viewership of the men. And they’ll never shut the frick up about it. This didn’t fix anything.

The federation needs to be razed to the ground and rebuilt from scratch.

this is what communism brings, what benefit does the men's team get from working harder if they know they don't see half of their earnings? why would the women work harder if they know they are getting paid big whether they win or lose? it's a toxic environment and everyone spirals into mediocrity

Basically, the women hit the lottery every time the USMNT play and advance in World Cup.

Equalization of World Cup Prize Money:

In a first-of-its-kind agreement, U.S. Soccer has agreed with both the USWNTPA and the USNSTPA to pool and share a portion of prize money paid for the teams’ participation in the 2022 Men’s World Cup (MWC) and the 2023 Women’s World Cup (WWC). In this arrangement, the players on the 2022 MWC roster and on the 2023 WWC roster will be paid an equal percentage of the collective prize money paid by FIFA for the teams’ participation and performance in their respective World Cups. The same will occur with the 2026 MWC and the 2027 MWC.

For non-World Cup tournaments, the CBAs ensure that players on both teams will earn an equal amount of the total prize money paid when both teams participate in the same competition.

Commercial Revenue Share:

In another first for U.S. Soccer and the Players Associations, U.S. Soccer will share a portion of its broadcast, partner and sponsorship revenue with a 50/50 split of that share divided equally between USWNT and USMNT. This new revenue-sharing framework will provide additional encouragement for all parties to work together to grow the game.

U.S. Soccer will pay the USWNT and USMNT players a share of the revenue from tickets sold at U.S. Soccer-controlled home matches and a bonus amount for those games that are sellouts.

How would the men agree to that? They’re guaranteed to make far less no matter how much they do. So they basically just agreed to use USMNT revenue to fund the womens team because they couldn’t make the difference up on their own. That’s insane. They’re being paid revenues they didn’t actually earn. Why?

Because the women had the full support of the media. The men make the majority of their money through their clubs, so it wasn’t worth the huge media backlash to fight it.

" how the top female models in the world earn 43 million while the top male make less than 3 million"

That could be an alternative headline but.. Not one that anyone asks because we know the answer....women buy clothes. Lots of clothes. And women are better at modeling women's clothing. In that same line of thinking...men are better at soccer

They mostly make enough money that it wasn't worth getting railroaded by the cancel culture right before a world cup.

Not to mention that their CBA had been up for a while and I assume they would have gotten fricked without signing one so USSF and the media basically jammed it down their throats. I assume they were not pleased about it.

They at least got image rights and stuff but idk how much that's worth
