Burrow’s number isn’t even retired after having the best season by any QB in history, breaking almost every single season passing record, and being the leader of arguably the best team in NCAA history.

Bc LSU has rules & standards for making these decisions. It will be retired eventually

Are they going to retire Rashaan Salaam's jersey too? At least they were good that year (11-1) and beat some good teams.

It's been retired.

Salaam's jersey retirement was announced before the 2017 season and went into effect after that season, being honored at halftime of the CU-California game on October 28, 2017.

13 wins is better than the usual….. 0

You have to go all the way back to the years 2016-2017 to find a 2 year stretch where they won more than 13 games

Neon: Need to squeeze a little more out of this kid's name. Let's retire his number, that'll get the internet buzzing about me again.

Shedeur: What about me Dad? It's not fair.

Neon: Ok son. You helped me make millions off Travis so I can throw you a bone.

Seems to me like he is still behind a lot of the CU greats like Koy Detmer, Kordell Stewart, Sefo Liufau, Steven Montez, Joel Klatt

Seems a bit early to retire either of their jerseys. And as everyone else has said, I get Hunter…but Sanders?

It's really a shame it took them this long to do it. I get wanting to let it breathe to place it in the correct historical context, but how long does the public really need to wait to finally properly acknowledge their contributions?

Tim Tebow Jersey isn’t even retired yet at Florida…. Just think about that.

What are they waiting for?

Btw with college rosters being what they are, you can honor a guy's number while at the same time leaving it available for use again in the future

Like the Giants giving Ray Flaherty’s number to Malik Nabers. Teams should do that once all the fans who remember the oldest retired number guys are dead

They probably wanted to retire Hunter's jersey and Deon demanded Shedeurs too. Embarrassing for Colorado.

If Shedeur Sanders' jersey was retired, why wasn't Cody Hawkins'?

There’d be no qb numbers left to retire if this was the criteria. Every starting qb for like 2 decades broke the previous records of the last starting qb because of the way the game changed

Here’s the annual reminder that as of 2006, Florida no longer “retires numbers”. They have a “ring of honor” which Tebow joined in 2018.

Even Spurrier let players wear his “retired” number 11 while he was the coach
