no one is putting down dan marino and i think he made a 15?
I'm surprised he made so low. Maybe he just didn't give a frick. He is 100% without a doubt, smarter than Tim Tebow.

Yea, and I bet tebow took about 50 practice tests while marino probably never even heard of it back it '83

i used to work for an advisor at LSU during undergrad and graduate school, you would be floored at the type of classes athletes take. made my classes look like harvard law
I'm currently in a class at LSU thats really easy to pad my gpa, most of the athletes in the class are barely getting by. Last year i helped a pretty well known player pass geol. 1001.

People freeze on tests.

he made an 890 on the SAT. Thats pretty terrible. The UF spin machine now claims he took the SAT in 9th grade just to get it out of the way because he was so focused
If I'd gotten an 890 I would have been pretty focused on retaking it.

Who cares about a test score on a timed Wonderlic test?
I do agree that classes and some majors are complete jokes. Ballroom dancing for Leinart? Youth development for Tebow? Student athletes my arse. They are very few schools that do it the right way.

Prized athletes are taken care of at most schools, if you don't believe that you went to Harvard, Princeton, etc.,

A 20 on the wonderlic is of average intelligence.

He didn't major in that. He graduated early and needed to take a class so he picked ball room dancing. It was 1 class not a major.

of course there are some who argue the Wonderlic is an unfair screen of intelligence in certain minority groups, simply because they score lower as a whole. What they fail to realize is that it is has been repeatedly shown and accepted in the psychological and cognitive literature that there are differences in intelligence between some groups and that difference is valid. ANd a significant difference still exists when SES and cultural factors are held constant and controlled for.

quote:this ..... you have a limited amount of time to take the wonderlic (10 minutes , I think) you are not expected to finish the test . It is very basic problem solving type problems/questions . 22 is not bad at all . I had to take it to get my job at a chemical plant . 18 is the minimum requirement for a mechanic... 20 for an I&E

I hope, for your sake, that you don't have to take the Wonderlic.

WHy? The statement is accurate. Of course you can do a search and find detractors that say it is baised because of cultural facors, but that simply does not hold up to scientific analyses. Even with non-verbal IQ tests, the difference still holds true. I know the literature and tests of intelligence. Go take a non-verbal IQ test and tell me how it is culturally biased--you won't find it. But some blocks togther to make designs.
Of course that would be your opinion. What i presented is not opinion. The scientific literture is where the data are. Keep in mind I am talking about valid and reliable IQ tests.
