I’m not sure if it’s bama fatigue or what, but cfb just seems like such a far cry from the 2000-2010 years.

00-07 was probably one of the most entertaining runs in college football.

You had USC, the VY led longhorns, several teams in the sec that could win it all (LSU, UF, auburn, uga), and then you had entertaining games like Boise-ok. Everyone ran different offenses- it wasn’t all spread like it is now.

It’s probably more to do with the fact that saban, dabo, smart, and urban concentrated all the top talent. However, saban is so much better than the rest that he still wins the natty more than 75% of the time.

It’s pretty boring because it’s the same shite every year. We can go ahead and pencil in bama/clemson for next year too.

Northern teams being complete garbage is the problem.

Since Ohio State won the title, no one’s beaten Alabama except Clemson and no one’s beaten Clemson except Alabama.

Meanwhile, Michigan State got killed 38-0, Ohio State was blasted 31-0, ND is lucky to only be down 30-3 and last year the best northern team was annihilated by 31 by Iowa.

Forgot to add Washington was stomped 24-7, too.

The NFL still blows. The Saints finally being good doesn't change that.

Saints/Rams, Rams/Chiefs, Steelers/Saints have been light years better than pretty much any college game this year.

I believe that's the answer.

that truly was a fantastic run.

What’s even funnier to me is people saying we need expansion of the playoffs if anything this year shows the BCS wasn’t so bad

The NFL is still stale AF. It's like watching a game played in a hospital hallway. The grit and edginess of college football is what makes it.

Bama fatigue just gets worse and worse every year. CFB will be so much better off once Saban is gone. They’re not even exciting to watch. It’s just a bunch of dudes bigger, stronger, and faster than everyone else running around smoking everyone.

Idk I think it’s pretty fun

Lol. Watching three teams with talent and the rest of them look like fools trying to dethrone them is not entertaining. There’s nothing gritty or edgy and out watching clemson vs bama for the millionth time.

I wouldn’t bet on that.

AL will have to turn the ball over to not score.

I give AL’s defense more credit than that on the flip side.

He’s a Bama guy.

And Saban at Bama probably plays the biggest part in killing CFB. Look at what he did for Finebaum, SECN, and ESPN. The Golden Goose is protected by the SEC and NCAA more than DWFprotects eagles and bears.

I’ve went from 9 season tickets travelling to 2 away games a year just a couple seasons ago to playing golf Tues and taping a NYD bowl game.

The transformation of college athlete to a minor league NFL anthem kneeler alsoplayed a part. But for a CFB addict that people have known me as to be where I am now definitely has to mean something about where it stands.

There’s still a talent issue. I watch LSU and we look like a very mediocre team, but in this watered down product we have a good shot to finish top 7.

Two or three teams literally share all the most talented players

Couldn’t agree more OP.

It’s week 17 and we still don’t know the placements of every team in the playoffs. Baltimore could end up having a first round bye if things go right or out of the playoffs completely given the worst case scenario. Hell, a few teams have that same situation in the AFC alone.

CFB is simply whoever else gets in besides Bama and Clemson, and usually it’s a combination of Ohio St, Oklahoma, and/or one other team thrown in the mix. shite is such a terrible product. Doesn’t help that LSU is so mediocre now. I’ve pretty much lost all interest because it’s the same shite each season.

And don’t think the powers that be don’t see that too.

Perfect recipe for a team like UCF to bring the powerful SEC to its knees in a meaningless bowl game that will all of a sudden become a benchmark.

Who’s officiating that game? Script writers everywhere are jotting down notes in the dark. LOL

The NFL is the better product with better players, facilities, more equitable distribution of talent, and superior coaching and instruction.

You can't enjoy college football and expect to see the highest level of football being played.

But I have to agree that college football is losing a step compared to the past. I think when players stayed all four years and the gap in facilities and money spent wasn't as big now the game was better.

College football needs a more equitable distribution of talent.

College coaches make way more than NFL at every position at the highest level.

It cannot sustain itself in its present state.
