Both teams had a whole game to get it done.

If you add a quarter and it is still tied, then what?
If you let the team that lost the coin toss have a drive and they get a touchdown, then what? Keep going and watch them start piling up injuries due to exhaustion?

If you can’t win it in regulation, fate steps in. I was pulling for the Bills.

After 10 mins line them up like College Football does. This was a terrible way to end one of the best games ever on one of the best playoff weekends ever.

Dont act like the bills wouldn't have marched right down the field like that if he got the ball first. Everyone in the stadium knew the game was decided on the coin toss. Both defenses were gassed and couldn't stop anyone

Exactly and they both fought like hell to be in this position. Both teams deserved an opportunity in OT.

It has to change. It just does.

I’m fine with playing an extra quarter but a coin toss didn’t allow KC to get into FG with 13 seconds left in regulation

In offseason, this rule has to be addressed. Both teams need to get a full series with the ball before game is decided. Or play a flat 10 minute quarter with 3 TO’s per team. Something has to change now.

Just do OT with alternating 2 point conversions.

Second scoring team forced to go for two, either win it or lose it. At least they will have a shot

The OT rules as they are now is great for the REGULAR season. In the Playoffs it just needs to be another 15 min period they play and if it’s tied after that another 15 min period and so on until you have a winner.

Each team should get one possession to score. Then do the 25 yard thing and require going for 2.

where were yall when this literally happened to kc in 2019? They tried to change the rule that year, but noone else seemed to care so they scratched it. "just play defense" sorry losers.

Just add an extra quarter (either 10 or 15 mins) and let them play it out in the playoffs

The problem is that it still can end in a tie.

What if both team score?

I prefer College rules but “give both teams a chance” necessitates 2nd and 3rd overtimes.

Personally I would Love
To see NGl teams trade kickoffs till we have a winner. Idk why the NFL is against that idea.

No, a defense that allowed a comeback with 13 seconds left decided the game. And then failed to stop them on the subsequent drive. Two chances and they blew cock.

Everyone knows the rules, they're the same for everyone. There's a 50% chance that it goes the other way. Play some fricking defense and possibly win. Instead of pussy crying about the rules.

Yes. KC has been there before:

Back when the NFL was still the NFL

I hate the sudden death rule in the NFL. It simply favors who wins the coin toss.

And even more now since the NFL has instituted rules for years now making it even more difficult to play pass defense.

Now that said, quite a choke job by the Bills' D in the last 13 seconds.

Buffalo’s incompetence on defense had a pretty big role, too. The OT rules suck. If Buffalo had the ball first they’d be playing this week at home, but they had a role in this with terrible defense the last 13 seconds. There is no reason to let Kelce have free release from the line in that situation.

I understand wanting to limit overtime in regular season games, but the rules should be changed for playoffs.
