Yeah and they made you look silly in your house.. Won't hafta worry about it this year though, the beating LSU gives bama will be epic, no second chances, and it won't matter anyway bama might have 2 losses by then.

Don't have to pretend. Alabama absolutely earned it.

Not only didn't you win the conference, you didn't even win the damn division. How did you earn it again?

I remember a famous coach once saying, if you don't win your own division no way should you play for the NC. Wanna guess his name?

Meh. They certainly won a great regular season game, no doubt about that.

It's certainly possible. Alabama is going to have a good team again (as will LSU) so if LSU can deliver an epic beatdown (say 21-0 or something like that) I will be very impressed.

But OKie St should have been there instead of Bama IMO. The game was the game and BAMA once they got there proved to be the better team on that day.

Alabama's second best win was over the SIXTH placed SEC team (Auburn). There's a reason Bama didn't talk about its wins. Hell, their best win was over the 3rd or 4th SEC team, depending on how you rank 'em.

It was certainly a close call where reasonable mind can and did disagree. Thankfully the majority agreed to what seemed pretty clear in the end - Alabama and LSU were the two best teams in the country.

Back to the topic, I don't see how letting 12 or so biased people pick the teams is going to be better than letting 100s of biased people (with a better chance of their bias cancelling each other out) + obstensibly unbiased computer formulas pick the teams. I think it is more likely to be worse than better.

I have my doubts as well.

Not really.

But Bama had already lost to LSU, They did NOT deserve a 2nd chance no matter IF they were better than Okie St.

Look, most people who mattered disagreed with you and it looked like they were proven right. Sorry, that's just the way it is.

It was quite a while ago, it's a new season.

To put it in perspective. Their best win was LSU's 3rd best win. Their 2nd best win was LSU's 6th best win.

I 100% agree with everything else you said.

I highly doubt Miles' ballot helped LSU "tremendously". How about "marginally"? Also, in his defense, he puts his money where his mouth is. He believe the SEC is the toughest conference, and voted Bama #2 last season. He didn't try to dodge the rematch -- he honestly believes in the SEC.

To strenghten your arguement, he also voted Florida ahead of his alma mater in 2006

But you're missing the context of 2007 - where all these 2-loss teams were fighting for the top spot. He may think the SEC is the best and vote that consistently but that one year was singled out by sportswriters where he was way over the top compared to his other years.

Which is why vested interest is far worse than mere fandom bias. Coaches with a vested interest in their vote shouldn't be given this much value. That's called manipulation and not mere bias (which we all can live with because it's human nature.)

Damn do you lsu fans know how whiny and bitchy you sound? Lsu got demolished in the biggest game of the year. That's how bama proved they deserved to be there. If lsu was so good they should have came to play. Remember this was "the greatest lsu team of all time". And they got embarrassed. No way I'd be saying shite right now if the same thing happened to me cause it makes you look pathetic

And so you choose to use a LSU logo?

Go with the Bama script A.

It much better suits you.

You claim to be a fan of the SEC. League office is in Birmingham. Red Elephant Club.

Just own it already.

Go full out Bama troll.

Instead of addressing the being a big baby issue, y'all decide to go after what school I'm affiliated with? Nice deflection

We lost one game last year, won the SEC, and have 2 NC in the last decade. I think we'll be ok.

Does that address this so so called "issue"?

Does anyone see the irony in that some LSU's fans are complaining about Bama being selected for the BCS NC game (e.g., they did not deserve to be there, they already lost to LSU, etc), despite the BCS procedures being followed?

Yes. After 2007 we should be the last team to bitch about such things. I get it.

Oh, and sorry y'all got snubbed in '03. We were just playing by the rules. I'm sure you understand. It's not personal. Strictly business.
