You heard anything about the team not allowing Wahoo logo merch into the stadium?

No signage with chief in stadium, none in merch shop inside stadium, but you can wear what you want as long as its not vulgar/offensive. Plenty of wahoo caps and jerseys being worn by fans. The team will always be known here as "The Tribe"....end of story.

I wonder if any native americans were actually offended by the Indians team name? Probably only white SJW liberals.

Guardians is a reference to well-known Art Deco statues

So the Indians are moving away from something offensive, and are now naming themselves after statues, which I thought was a bad thing these days as they continue to be torn down because they're offensive.

Looks like a statue of a white person built by all white people. There's no conflict of interest?

I'd laugh but it's just sad and depressing

One of the best names and logos in all of sports and now they're practically a minor league team

Guardians is offensive to anyone who isn’t the legal guardian of someone.

From an external perspective for people who don’t live there it seems stupid but a quick Google of Hope Memorial Bridge shows the ties with the name.

Well, after a quick Google search, it still sounds stupid.

Serious question: what is offensive about the name "Indians"?

In today's color coded culture I get the Redskins issue. Fine. Whatever.

But honoring a people group that had a profound impact in the original inhabitance of that area seems cool.

Please help here.

Maybe not the Clowns, but I really like alliterative names in sports. Cavaliers, Bills, Knicks, Lakers, Pirates , Penguins, etc....

Aren’t the Guardians the name of the statues that were put up when Cleveland got cars?

That's a good one. I love alliteration.
A Homage to all US Special forces.

May not specifically fit with Cleveland ( many mascots dont) but creative.

I was hoping for a nautical theme like Cleveland Commodores or Cleveland Captains.

Spiders or Rockers would have been much better names. At least Spiders has some historical significance.
