Listening to the First Team on ESPNU Radio, Brett McMurphy is doing his best to beat around the bush on the subject of why the Big Ten changed their minds. McElroy is pushing him to state the obvious but McMurphy wasn't taking the bait. There was rapid testing six weeks ago so it's obvious their decision to re-start the season was based on something else. Everyone knows what that "something else" is but McMurphy is refusing to say what that is.

agree, but what happens if they have a pair of cancellations? A 7 win team isn't getting in.

Hard to say. Other conferences might not get a full schedule in as well, but they certainly have a far greater chance given their start dates.

This is going to be the biggest eye test year ever.

Sounds like if a player tests positive, they are automatically out for 21 days. Jesus this conference is stupid.

exactly. ohio state has to not only run through their schedule unscathed and winning handily, but they also have to simultaneously hope all teams stay covid-free in the process.

Just want to chime in that I'm thrilled the B1G season will happen but the conference deserves all of the criticism they get and then some. Absolute fricking clown show - anybody who paints this as anything but that should be ashamed.

That is an absolutely ludicrous rule, your conference administrators (presidents and commissioner) dont really want to play but the public and the almighty dollar forced them too

There shouldn't be. Anyone that follows CFB knows that OSU is loaded.

It would have been a travesty to not let Ohio State compete this fall

With this rule, teams wont have enough players if they get a handful of positives 3 weeks in a row.

fricking clowns.

This rule is absolutely baffling. Make then have consecutive negative tests and are 72 hours past being symptomatic..

Why is that an issue the SEC hasn’t played and they’re still ranked. Should move them back into the polls this week actually

it's so funny that the lie of "rapid testing is new!" is being accepted so easily right now

because some teams will have played 5 or 6 game by the time the BIG has played one.

of course it will be an issue. my lord man. its going to be one of the top 3 most interesting things about this restart

yeah 21 days is just stupid. it's more draconian than the revised 14 day rules we initially relied on

Their polling must've revealed cancelling the season was helping, not hurting, Donald Trump in Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
