Florida Atlantic gained another fan in Kansas State head coach Jerome Tang after the Owls upset the Wildcats to advance to the Final Four on Saturday night.
After FAU beat K-State, 79-76, Tang visited the Owls' locker room not only to congratulate them on the win and Final Four berth but also to shower praise on his victorious opponents.

I’d never let another coach in my locker room.

Skip addressed Tulane the first time they made it to Omaha.

Tang has always been a classy guy. He was a big reason for Baylor's success as Scott Drew's right hand man. He was a big loss for us but a blessing for K State, wish him well.

"Y'all are a great team. Tough. Stick together and you can win it all!"...and if/when your coach leaves for a bigger job, here's my number to call when you enter the transfer portal"
I'm sure Tang means well. But no one from FAU wants to listen to the coach they just beat give them a pep-talk. This is FAU's moment. They don't need another coach using their moment to get PR facetime.
K-State had an unbelievable season. NO ONE expected them to make it that far. If you venture over to the Tiger Rant you'll learn that a new HC with 2 returning players from last year's team has no shot to win more than 2 conference games. Let alone reach the Elite 8. Just leave it at that Jerome and let FAU have their moment.

For those that say they hate it, just curious as to why? Not downing the opinion, just curious. He had a heart breaking loss, but took a few minutes to go congratulate the other team. Didn't seem to go overboard with it. Seems much better than coaches like Izzo who run to the press and say the other team was lucky.
Seeing that reminds me of the 93-94 year...Arkansas blew out LSU in the last game at Barnhill Arena, a win that clinched the West over LSU. After the game, there was a ceremony to 'close' the arena and ready for the move to BWA. Even with the tough loss, Dale Brown asked if he could come out and say a few words in the ceremony. Gave a quick, sincere, classy speech. Had to be tough to do after the loss, but went over very well.
What Tang did just seems like a stand up thing to me.

It was a douchy look at me moment for both. K also loved to scold players that beat him.

I hate this
It seems condescending like you are talking down to them.

This shite is so stupid. I was in the basketball band for LSU when we lost to NC State in the tournament in 2014-15. The NC State band director came on our bus and praised us on how good we sounded. I wanted to push that old fart down the stairs after that. How far up your own arse do you have to be to do that.

I think it's good sportsmanship and didn't feel like he was being condescending at all. Sounded and felt sincere to me.

This is like the guy who got the job over you giving you some encouragement. While it’s good intention, it’s not really the place or time. Someone who took something that you fought for…you don’t want to be near that person. A handshake after the game is ok. Unsolicited life lessons when I’m still disappointed and angry..frick that.
