I don't know how you can possibly say this with Ryan Day in your conference.

Let’s see what buddy does this year when his teams average age isn’t almost 25.

Wasn’t even close to that last year.

Big talk from a school that’s scared to play anyone with a pulse in the non conference

Really? Cignetti has coached at IUP, Elon, James Madison, and Indiana as a head coach. He has been about as far south as any coach can go and he has a National Title.

If you believe Cignetti is scared about going 8-4 or 7-5 then you simply don’t get it. He’s at freaking Indiana. Meanwhile the SEC has 1 coach who has won a Natty and you act like your conference is beyond reproach. It’s just comical.
Why are these two paragraphs in the same post? How does any of that make sense to you?

Cignetti should keep doing whatever he’s doing. But y’all very needlessly carry the water for this guy and it makes no sense to me.

And you take bites from both ends. Can’t talk about him because he’s HIM and dominating the big guys and also can’t talk about him because he’s a little ole’ ball coach who has only been at little schools for the blind.

MANY a-hole football coaches have been beloved yet y’all won’t even let a random person on the internet say “ehhh, he’s kind of an a-hole attention whore.”

I can’t piece together what it is that sees y’all defending his honor so much.

Someone said they’ll see how Cignetti reacts to when his team isn’t as good. And I pointed out he has coached at zero big time schools and has done just fine. Compare that to guys like Debour and Kiffen who have coached at big time programs and have won absolutely NOTHING.

You can say whatever you want about Cignetti and that’s fine. But it’s just funny. The guy won a National Tile at Indiana and beat Bama 38-3 and the U along the way. He’s not at UGA, Ohio St, USC, or Bama types. He’s at Indiana. He could go 0-12 this year and the next major job that comes open will throw money at him.

Easy to be all high and mighty when you have a soft as charmin schedule that allows you to lose your 1 or 2 hardest games and still be able to get in playoff without “whining” because you play in the Big 10.

2026 Indiana Schedule:

Sept. 5 – North Texas (12-2 - 40 players transferred out after Morris left)
Sept. 12 – Howard (5-7)
Sept. 19 – Western Kentucky (9-4)
Sept. 26 – Northwestern (7-6)
Oct. 3 – at Rutgers (5-7)
Oct. 10 – at Nebraska (7-6)
Oct. 17 – Ohio State (12-2)
Oct. 24 – at Michigan (9-4)
Oct. 31 – Minnesota (8-5)
Nov. 7 – BYE
Nov. 14 – USC (9-4)
Nov. 21 – at Washington (9-4)
Nov. 28 – Purdue (2-10)

Honestly, Ryan Day makes way more excuses than Kirby Smart. I think it has a lot to do with what school you're at and how much the media platforms you. I don't recall ESPN giving Lloyd Carr a platform to campaign for a rematch in 2006.

That was a de facto semi final game. But we got to see the Florida double. Tim Tebow and Joakim Noah were National Treasures, but for very different reasons.
