I never understood why ESPN retooled NFL Primetime when NBC got rights in 2006. They still could have kept Berman and Jackson together. Just tape delay the show later that night and the next day. NFL Blitz just wasn't the same. It doesn't have the same magic anymore. I don't like all the over analysis and film breakdown. Just give me highlights.

Was it a contractual thing? I do not know, but it seems to me that you would give NBC everything Disney had in terms of broadcast rights to games.
Wasn't 2006 when MNF moved to ESPN from ABC also?

If so it's terrible, annoying and played the frick out.
Not to mention 85% of his viewers never once watched a game done by Cosell.
It's the little touches like that which he constantly adds that make him insufferable and a decade past his prime.

Yes, but I don't see why NFL Primetime couldn't be aired in its current format once NBC's SNF was off the air.
