If this injury does indeed mark the end of his career, I was lucky to have been there in person, and witnessed my favorite Brave's last game/hit/web gem.

Still hasnt sunk in. Chipper has been my favorite player my whole life and is the reason im a Braves fan. Some of my best memories were watching #10 on TBS as a youngster. I started to tear up when he went down, I knew he was done.

I still think he's gonna come back. He's not gonna want to go out like this, and he's still got $26 million guaranteed if he decides to take it. It might even be a blessing in disguise for next season, as he can rehab and join the team mid-season and not have to have the 162 game wear and tear. Also, I'm not sure how much this matters to him, but he's close to a few mini-milestones(2,500 hits, 450 homeruns, 1500 RBI). He's probably in anyway, but getting to those could help his HOF chances.

Anyway, I could be wrong, but I think we'll see Chipper in a Braves uniform again.

god i would love it if he just announced that next year was his last year and that way he could do a farewell tour like bobby is getting to do.

I wanna see him finally get cheered by all the opposing fans around the country who have booed him

If he comes back, do you think we see him lower in the lineup? I don't see Heyward hitting anywhere but the 3-hole for the forseeable future.

Personally, I think he does what's best for the Braves and retires at the end of the year, but stays involved with the team in some way. This opens up some spending money for FA next year, and we'll have options. We can either find a middle infielder to be a true leadoff hitter and move Prado to 3rd base and the 2-hole, or keep Prado at 2nd and leading off and find a big righty bat to put at 3rd and bat cleanup between J-Hey and BMac.
