Or you could argue that it was the way it was because Catholic and Zachary were scared to play each other during the regular season.

They actually did play each other several times in the regular season when Fertida was HC at Catholic. So your argument is still invalid

Some people like their hometowns and also high school football… what’s the big deal?

looking at a map it kind of makes sense (West and East BR)... but it also made sense before (North and South BR)

The issue for AP was Catholic playing at Memorial. When they played at Olympia you could go up Perkins. Woodlawn/McK/Broadmoor/Liberty weren't the problem. And it wasn't just because they generally sucked at football (until Rickie Collins)

It's a lot easier for Zachary and Scotlandville to get to Memorial on Friday night than it is for East Ascension.

It's just a little more complex than the "AP/LP pussied out" narrative some people are trying to push. They almost care as much about baseball as they do about football, so why would Dutchtown and STA want to give up 20-run wins against Woodlawn and McKinley to add Live Oak and Walker?

I’ve seen some things posted here since the Sid Edwards news first broke and I wrote the post about him not resigning, but rather being forced out.

Who the hell cares

Sid is still a joke

100%

Plus correct me if I was wrong but it was the only situation in the state where people in the same parishes were playing in separate districts for same classification. (Same parish, not same school district)

They played each other every year from 15-18 when the schools were solidifying themselves as elite programs, and they played off and on before then. The LHSAA made those districts, doubt the schools have that much pull to say who they want to play. The truth is they are just way far ahead of most other schools in the area.

This high school coaching job is important. Belichick regularly hires from public high schools

Now do this math. How long does it take for an AP school to get to Memorial on Friday evening? It's A HELL of a lot easier to get to Live Oak for them, and vice versa for Live Oak.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t they choose to move to the Ascension/LP district so that they could get away from playing Catholic and Zachary? That’s how I understood it to be anyway. Did it under the cover of darkness.

I think it was more to get away from Scotlandville. Not necessarily playing Scotlandville, but having to go to Scotlandville.

Central shouldve stayed with the LP schools. or at least kept the rivalry game with DS.

I saw this last year and copied and pasted as it is relevant. It appears this may be about several other reasons, but travel just ain't one of them.

It seems like it is further travel for all of the teams in AP and LP for their new district opponents than prior. You can shake it any way you want, it is obvious what is going on here. You can fabricate whatever logic you want but it really is comical the effort to avoid Catholic, Woodlawn, Central, and Zachary.

Denham Springs to Zachary = 20 miles
Denham Springs to Scotlandville = 18 miles
Denham Springs to Central = 6.7 miles

Denham Springs to St. Amant = 23 miles
Denham Springs to Dutchtown = 26.7 miles
Denham Springs to East Ascension = 27 miles

Walker to Zachary = 24.5 miles
Walker to Scotlandville = 21.5 miles through Central, 28 miles interstate
Walker to Central = 10.3 miles

Walker to St. Amant = 19.8 miles
Walker to Dutchtown = 30 miles interstate, 25.4 through port vincent
Walker to East Ascension = 23.5

Live Oak to Zachary = 21.7 miles
Live Oak to Scotlandville = 18.7 miles
Live Oak to Central = 7.5 miles

Live Oak to St. Amant = 30.3 miles, 41 via interstate
Live Oak to Dutchtown = 33.3 miles
Live Oak to East Ascension = 34 miles

St. Amant to Catholic = 24.7 miles
St. Amant to Woodlawn = 14.2 miles
St. Amant to Liberty = 24.2 miles

Dutchtown and EA are same or closer to Catholic, Woodlawn, and Liberty than St. Amant.

Y'all are a bunch of hard heads and still don't get it.

Leave East Ascension High School at 5 pm on Friday and see how long it takes to get to Memorial on I-10.

Then drive down LA 16 to Watson and get back to me.
