It is so much of a big deal that all of the Ascension parish schools are listed as playing the small sports such as basketball, soccer, etc. against either Catholic or St. Joseph's. Not every Ascension School playing every sport, but everyone is playing AT Catholic or St Joseph's.
So, If traffic was the reason you would think they would remove them entirely from those schedules.

Out here in California 40 years ago there was a rivalry between Bishop Amat and St. Paul. St. Paul head coach told his assistants we don't go home until Amat's coaches went home. So St Paul would call Amat's coaches office and if someone answered St.Pauls coaches had to stay. The catch is Amat had hired a guy to sleep in the office and answer the phone whenever it rang.
