Six months out from the 2020 NFL Draft, the quarterback conversation is heating up.

Former NFL executive Mike Tannenbaum, who runs point for ESPN's draft scouting efforts when Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay are off-air, said this week he would take Oregon's Justin Herbert over Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa with his first pick among signal callers next spring.

He pointed to Herbert's frame — at 6-foot-6 — and ability to recover as the primary reason for his take.

"Because when I think about what’s going on in football right now, we’re up to 51 quarterbacks that have started a game this year," Tannenbaum said on Get Up! this week. "The durability of quarterbacks in the NFL is at an all-time high.

"Taking nothing away from Joe Burrow, taking nothing away from Tua. Of those three by far, in my opinion, Justin Herbert is built to last."

1. JOE BURROW, QB, LSU (CINCINNATI BENGALS)
2. CHASE YOUNG, DL, OHIO STATE (WASHINGTON REDSKINS)
3. ANDREW THOMAS, OL, GEORGIA (NEW YORK GIANTS)
4. TUA TAGOVAILOA, QB, ALABAMA (MIAMI DOLPHINS)
5. JERRY JEUDY, WR, ALABAMA (NEW YORK JETS)

Rest of the list

Why wouldn’t Burrow be built to last?

The Tannenbaum video is hilarious.

He says that because of all of the recent QB injuries, he likes Herbert because he's "bigger".

He then compares Herbert to Big Ben...whom is injured and out for the season.

Because Herbert 2 inches taller and 15 pounds heavier, apparently.

Burrow is too small at 6'4" 220.

8 Bama guys in the first round would be insane.

Tannenbaum must cream his jeans over Brock Osweiler and Paxton Lynch.

Says absolutely nothing about the actual QB skills. Hilarious.

Bama has 7 players projected to be first rounders in this draft and still got their asses handed to them last Saturday.

Albert O from Missouri has pissed his draft status away.

Going into this season, he was a potential top15 pick, topTE in Draft, with so much skills and potential.

Got lazy, hurt, and still is not in shape and cannot play a full 60 minute game.

What a fricking waste.

3 of them are on defense, one of which is out for the season. One of the other two definitely isn't going before the 4th in my opinion because when LSU needed a big play, they went directly at him and got it every single time.

this jumped out to me. Admittedly the only time I've watched him this season was against LSU but he was abused in every aspect of playing defense. At one point I think the official felt bad for him and just started letting him hold on to Chase for dear life.

I started scouting in 2003. This upcoming WR class is the best I've ever seen.

Little teeny tiny Drew Brees misses less games over the years than Big Ben.

Especially for a team that didn’t make the playoffs.

Bama always has half their team mocked in the first this time of year. Will be a different story after the combine. Nice recruiting tool, but complete BS.

It's a weird thing people have run with.

He's never missed any time with injuries and is like 6'4"220 lbs

And takes HUGE hits regularly and pops right the frick back up. His durability and toughness are some of his absolute best attributes.
