The post asked for facts on the Astros cheating scandal. I responded with the first sentence of my post being that they used electronic means to steal signs and then relayed them to the hitter using a trashcan. What more do you want? Oh that’s right you don’t want any context so that the team can continue to get stones thrown at them and more feathers on top of the tarring.

Do you really want your mind blown? Look up their home and road batting splits on the season. FARRR better on the road but don’t let that get in the way of piling on the asterisks

So the cheating didn't aid them? So why continue to do it?

Poor you bro...

ETA You call it context, I call it excuses. We are going in circles here.

All fans do it to defend their teams, so I get it I guess...

Les, I agreed with your basketball takes here recently but I find this near identical to the Will Wade situation. Many teams were doing very similar things and there is one team that had a disgruntled former player go to the media about it. Unlike with Wade, the Astros were caught and subsequently punished. However I don’t think I as a fan have to feel bad, nor do I feel that the players have to be singled out as the only cheaters and metaphorically burned at the stake as a witch. The organization has been drastically hurt with the loss of Luhnow. The players apologized but its never going to be enough. Particularly hypocritical when like Wade they did what everyone else is doing.

Not poor me. We got a championship by equaling the playing field. Y’all other whiners are sitting in tears.

Multiple organizations did very similar actions

This is just simply a lie. The Red Sox did something somewhat similar but nowhere near "very similar" and no other team has been so much as accused of anything even remotely similar.

*Astros fans making things up to deflect blame doesn't count as an accusation.

The problem with the apologies are that they started with the “buts”, which cheapen the authenticity. The sincerity goes out the window. The best apologies are short and don’t include explanations that can undo them. The Astros have undone them, especially with Correa spouting off his bullshite

As technology around the game exploded, teams installed additional cameras around the ballpark as training and scouting tools. Starting in 2018, with paranoia among clubs peaking, MLB mandated that teams catalog and register those cameras with the league to ensure they were used legally. As far back as 2015, the Yankees used the video replay room to learn other teams’ sign sequences, multiple sources told The Athletic. Other teams likely were doing the same. Sources said the Red Sox began doing it no later than 2016. “Oftentimes it takes a player to show up and be like ‘You f—— morons, you’re not doing this?’” said one American League executive. quote: “I’m just telling you from a broad perspective, living it, it didn’t feel that wrong,” said one player who used the replay-room system with the Yankees as far back as 2015. “It was there for everyone, that’s all.” Veteran players who were skilled at picking up tendencies by watching on-field action knew what to look for on video as well. “If I could figure out the signs from the telecast, I was not going to hold on to that information,” that former Yankee said. “I was going to share that with whomever.” By 2017, with rules governing electronic sign stealing still lacking the specificity that would come the next season, the Red Sox, Yankees and Astros were all using their replay rooms to help decode sign sequences in some way, sources said. There are indications other teams did so as well. One National League general manager expressed a feeling that it was fair game.

I think what’s more enjoyable in all this is watching Astros fans fight so hard for their team on here. It’s funny to read how delusional some fans are on this...

I again have no real dog in this fight, just like seeing the Astros fans doing mental gymnastics. If you are good with having an asterisk by the championship then I got nothing on you. Congrats*

Technically, NO. There's no laws written regarding sign stealing in baseball.
