Bregman and Correa as Hall and Nash?
Altuve as Hogan?

Pretty much, unironically.

It's too bad the owner cucked out, he would've been perfect as Dibiase or Bischoff. Verlander or McCullers would be the enforcer Giant.

I think every non-* is perfectly comfortable with the professional wrestling angle here.

It’s a brilliant self-own by you. You’re trying hard to own it, and hats off to you for sticking by your team, but we all see you. We all see y’all.

I posted this exact same factual info in another thread too
quote:

MLB concluded that Young and the Red Sox were using Apple Watches to convey sequences during games that year -- and that there were no credible allegations about the Yankees doing the same when Young and Carlos Beltran were on the team.

quote:

Prior to his time in Boston, Young played for the Yankees from late 2014 until the end of the 2015 season. According to a person briefed on MLB's investigation, he told the league that he and his Yankees teammates would study video before games of pitchers' sequences. They would then use that information when on base to convey a sign to the batter.
The Yankees were never accused of using an Apple Watch, and MLB was never asked to investigate that.

quote:

According to the source, MLB also found that Young and other Yankees did look at sequences in the replay room during games, and convey them verbally or in person to the dugout. This was not illegal at the time.
As the source put it, "When Young went to Boston, the Red Sox took what the Yankees were doing, which was legal, and basically put it on steroids." The "steroids" in this case were not performance-enhancing drugs, but an Apple Watch that took the process to another level.

Also worth noting:
quote:

Unlike the Houston Astros' trash-can scheme, the Red Sox did not typically have the exact pitch, according to a person in the dugout that year. They had sign sequences, and needed a runner on base for their method to work. On that team, Young was viewed as a leader who helped others learn the hidden languages of the game.

I would've been happy with player suspensions. We're gonna suspend pitchers if they throw at em (I don't condone headshots but ribs are fair game) because it's premeditated? The cheating was premeditated and very carefully planned.

Banging a trashcan is some NASA level shite, baw.

Lol yeah I’m sure you realize it was more complicated than just the banging on trash cans and at this point it’s obvious as frick that Altuve was hiding something under his jersey. You’re talking about players possibly wearing buzzing devices under their jersey that tipped them off to off speed pitches. That is more than enough to make a huge difference at that level. It’s cheating. They are the best of the best. A lot of guys would seem better if they knew what was coming. It’s still very hard to hit a baseball but that is too much of an advantage.

It is certainly a reasonable possibility.

Doesnt mean it happened.

Doesnt mean it is why Altuve took a shitty 90 MPH hanging slider bridge.

Also wont change which teams played in the World Series in 2019.

But it is possible he was wearing something.

I find it hard to believe MLB would investigate the Astros to the level they did and not find anything if it was occurring. Unless you think MLB would actively cover that up to avoid harder backlash which I guess is possible. I don’t think they would do that though
