Because when UConn women won 100+ games in a row, people (read: ESPN) were trying to act like they broke UCLA's record when they'd go 0-30 against UCLA's schedule.
By that same logic ucla would've gotten crushed vs a NBA schedule. Just different sports man

Any good high school boys team would beat the best women’s college team by more than 50 points.

a top flight boys high school basketball team beat most any womans Olympic team

Your average male intramural team is competitive with women's college teams. That's who most of them scrimmage against in practice. Guys whose last organized basketball was at least a year ago and probably have a hangover from last night.

Of course they would, but why compare the two?
The men play their game and the women play theirs.
No need to disparage the women by stating the obvious. We all know men are better athletes.
Exactly. I just do not understand why this thread is needed every few months.

I read an article many years ago that said Summitt did that.
She'd get guys at the gym playing pick-up to play against her team and they would crush (at the time) the best women's CBB team - so she could toughen up her team and not let their success go to their heads.

This is a chest pounding we are men pointless argument. The answer is yes of course.. they could beat WNBA teams as well.. We are genetically different but the mainstream doesn’t want these discussions and thus we are stuck with these threads

she may have started it, i don't recall, but pretty much every program has a men's practice team to play against the girls.

Yes...barring a woefully bad shooting night, the boys would kill the women's team

An elite AAU HS boys squad would CRUSH a WNBA all star team. I’d go so far as to say that, if the boys pressed the whole game, the WNBA team would struggle to get the ball past halfcourt consistently. Score would be something like 120-20.
You’re underestimating the elIte AAU team. If they wanted, the women may not score a single point.
Here’s an example of an elite AAU team. Sports Academy from BR finished 2nd at 16u nationals in Detroit. I was there. Starting 5 - Tasmin Mitchell, Glen Davis, Garret Temple, Tyrus Thomas, and Early Doucet. At this point Early could damn near dunk from the free throw line

That Aussie team didn't have alot of their players. Just saying. Doesn't really matter though. Not sure why these threads start. OP feeling inferior for some reason.

A high level AAU team, yes. The OT Allstars? No chance.

Yes. Didn't Naz Reids team have Him and a kid that plays for S Carolina? Naz would fare well against a 6'6" woman center I'd guess.

Now this is a hypothetical I can get with. I think you could definitely get 5 posters that could beat most college teams but maybe not UConn or a WNBA team. But yeah the OP’s question is silly. A .500 high school team in Arkansas’s 3rd biggest classification would probably run roughshod against all but the best women’s teams.

Why is this thread so overdone....and who cares? Could a male teen tennis player beat a woman on the tour ranked in the top 5? I dunno....and I don't give a frick either.
Could a teen boy beat a female olympic sprinter?
Could a teen boy throw a javelin further than a female olympic javelin thrower?
Why don't people ask these questions? Why is basketball the only one that is used to try to compare men and women?

There's multiple reasons the boys would crush the women, but the one factor that would be completely dominating is the size. A state championship HS boys basketball team likely has multiple players over 6'3 and possibly the entire starting team. Their wingspan and height difference compared to the women's team would be better. It would be like a HS team playing a pro team.

I was a pretty good basketball player in high school, and had some friends who were better than me in college. One of my buddies in knew the UW women's coach or some players or something. So he would get guys together to scrimmage the women's players in the Kohl Center. I don't recall who won or if we were keeping score, but it was far from domination by the guys. The guys were not as well conditioned, the girls can shoot it (the smaller ball was kind of weird), some of those girls are pretty damn quick, and some of them are large. And keep in mind the UW women's team is perenially awful in college hoops.
Take it for what it's worth. Of course, most on this board will continue to completely overestimate both their health and game. It would actually be hilarious to watch a good women's college team drag the OT all stars up and down the court.
