I got there in '88 and it was an entirely different place. There must have been a crazy amount of growth in those 12 years.

Looks like the field where the SCLSU Mud Dogs played... In reality That was at Stetson, but it certainly looked the part.

Mostly right, there's parking, then Cajundome Blvd, then the Cajundome across the street. Being from Lafayette it's tough to imagine a period of time where all that was once crops.

Other than concreting one endzone and the building the tractor shed concession areas, not much has changed and it shows. It badly needs some rehab and renovations

As a Cajuns fan, I'm prepared to be let down. Again.

Man if only we had a crooked politician lying about funding to shove a rocket up our arse, then maybe we'd have something better by now. Every BR yat a king.

Unfortunately political support for the hometown University is not politically advantageous in this state. Gotta grovel to the alpha dog or else.

To add to this topic, here is the Cajundome under construction, circa 1984-5. The line of trees in between the Dome and Cajun Field is where Cajun Dome Blvd (with the pedestrian tunnel between the two) will be built a few years after the Cajundome is opened.

What's interesting is that USL owes the Cajun Dome and the football field to EWE.
