apparently he is writing, not speaking due to the intubation

Yeah we have a lot of vented patients write for us when we do physical therapy with them in the icu. Probably has a board that has a bunch of statement on it.

The "You won the game of life" bit the doctors are spewing seems a bit much.

I mean, he kinda did. Maybe the hit he took directly caused his episode; maybe it didn't. But if that happens to him anywhere besides on a field with trained professionals who got to him within a matter of seconds and carried out their job to 100% efficiency, then we are reading the guy's obituary right now.

I'm no medical professional. But I am an anonymous internet poster, so that gives me some credibilty. But assuming he makes a really good recovery. They are saying he's neurologically intact. Assuming there are no underlying heart conditions, and this was all just a freak 1 in a million accident of commotio cordis. I see no reason he couldn't return at 1 point.

That being said, mentally is a whole other thing. That's a traumatic thing to go through. His mom will definitely be pushing him away from football. If this all happened to me, I honestly don't think I'd be able to strap on some shoulder pads again. I would be too freaked out.

I realize physically he may never be the same.

But it’s the absolute best news possible that his brain neurological function is intact.

They better not do it any time soon, it'll give him a heart attack.

Now that we're getting good news there needs to be a decision on what to do about this game/playoffs by tomorrow afternoon. There's no excuse anymore

Right?

I honestly hope, that after he asked the question, and the the doctor gave the doctor answer, he then said:

"No, really...who won the game"?

Damar Hamlin when Goodell visits to tell him they won't get the #1 seed because the game was scrapped when he died on field
